FUN FACT: according to creator Ken Tremendous himself, Parks and Recreation couldn't write Joe Biden into an episode until after the election because, in his words, "There are complicated (and warranted) election rules governing any exposure for any candidate during a campaign. That's why the senators who appeared in the premiere were all either not running or retiring. It was not in any way a partisan decision." Politics!
- 30 Rock: Do you guys like Hazel? I know a lot of people aren't fans, and maybe it's just because I love Kristen Schaal on Flight of the Conchords, Gravity Falls, and Bob's Burgers so much, but I've found her to be a enjoyable mash-up of Liz's occasional craftiness and Jenna's egocentric attitude, and...she was fired at the end of the episode, so instead, let's talk about Aunt Phatso and "Get me a black coffee, and by black coffee I mean a Sunkist" and “I’m friends with Phil Harmonic, the worst rapper of all time" and calling Liz and Jack Grizz and Dot-Com and Uncle Tracy’s Black Teletubbies Rip-Off. Tracy was on fire last night.
- Up All Night: Oof. That was embarrassing. It's like the writers looked at the TV Tropes page for "Thanksgiving," and STUFFED (Up All Night-level humor there) every overused sitcom holiday gimmick they could find into this episode, from the dinner guest list growing to Reagan not knowing how to cook a turkey. And then there was the football game...At this point, I just feel sad for Will Arnett and Christina Applegate.
- The Office: This is an odd thing to say, but I could have used more "inside baseball" scenes about a small-town paper company trying to lure in some major business, in this case the white pages, or "The White Whale." Instead, after a funny first half with the ladies in the office teaching Dwight how to interact with women in power (the show's done this before, but Nellie's description of Dwight's face was spot-on), the episode quickly ditched that in favor of spending some time with Jan, whose appearance was supposed to be a surprise, except for the fact that NBC's promos ruined the twist. Her emergence just made me feel sad about Michael Scott all over again.
- Parks and Recreation: I love the swag out of Jean-Ralphio...but Orin's creeping up the list of TV's best recurring characters. "Aren't you supposed to be a sheep?" "No, you are."
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to spend the rest of the day listening to Virginia Jordan's album.

I adore Schaal in 30 Rock, but I’m not disappointed that she isn’t in the main cast.
I feel like they are force-feeding Kristen Schaal into everything now… I was catching up on friggin’ Mad Men the other day and discovered her bit part in the show. she’s funny, but her stand-up is “meh” and she’s sort of a one trick pony. I like her most on the Daily Show.
She is the heart of Bobs Burgers
I, too, enjoy Schaal in most things. My first intro to her being “Flight of the Conchords” which I think she was brilliant on. She is also the best part of “Bob’s Burgers” hands down and pretty solid on the Daily Show.
Hazel has always sort of been hit or miss for me. I did enjoy her this episode but other times, she can be a little much. Can’t say if I’m going to miss her but it’s not like I can’t see her on any other shows.
If a 30 Rock episode is a great Tracy episode…then it’s a great 30 Rock episode.
I thought that Leslie’s reaction to the proposal was her Emmy moment, but meeting Joe Biden was Amy Poehler’s crowning achievement.
It made me want to bang Biden, although I was hoping for more Onion Biden than White House Biden.
The episode started and I was just grinning. That’s a mark of a great show.
“You don’t let anything happen to this man! He is precious cargo!”
yes and yes
Biden!
I have to admit by the time she said “precious cargo” to secret service I was in tears of laughter, the who scene of her touching him was great
I loved this for the fact that I was able to shout out “They may be a low-rated NBC sitcom, but they got the Vice President bitches!”
I was especially weirdly enthusiastic about it for a Canadian.
Also Tobey’s creepy mustache for life, yo.
I’m certainly going to drop “make like a woman driver and get lost” into a conversation this weekend
I was hoping for a Ron Swanson gif.
Check out #11. His only line of the night, I believe.
I saw it, should have said I was hoping for one and I wasn’t disappointed.
Jan is hot as all hell. Thank You.
Seconded.
We need more Ben Wyatt accounting jokes.
He’s always so pleased with himself when he makes a funny. The scene where he quits the accounting job AGAIN was great.
It’s amazing how much better teh office gets when Andy isn’t there.
Chris Pratt needs to be in everything. On a side note, how the hell am I going to believe he’s a Seal in Zero Dark Thirty?
He was pretty great in Moneyball.
I’m just going to be thinking it’s Andy Dwyer: Navy SEAL
More wisdom from Ron Swanson.
Andy Dwyer kills Osama Bin Laden? Andy Dwyer Kills Osama Bin Laden.
Everybody hating on Jerry “Gary”, right after Ron sid that they need to treat each other with respect, got a huge laugh from me (even though it was expected).
/You just got Jammed
I loved Jerry’s reaction to that. Usually he makes that “ugh” expression of his, but this time he just sorta smiled and said “Sorry guys.”
Everybody shitting on Jerry will never not make me laugh.
Nellie’s best lien was when she asked Dwight how many women he has murdered.
Everybody hating on Jerry right after Ron told them that they need to respect each other got a huge laugh out of me. (Even though it was somewhat expected).
/You just got Jammed.
I was really hoping for a GIF of Jon Glaser’s sassy booty-shaking “You just got jammed” on his lawn.
This didn’t exist when I put the post together.
“You just got Knoped…And Ludgated….And…Perkinsed.”
I want April Ludgate inside of me. now.
When did Amy Poehler get hot? It’s like she has changed, but I know she hasn’t. Hmmmm.
I think there is a very thin line, comprised of makeup and hairdo, separating plain Amy Poehler from super-hot Amy Poehler.
Melora Harden (Jan Levenson from the Office) is the new Diane Lane. She’s getting older yet ridiculously hotter.
I fucking hate Hazel I can’t stand her ugly face, stupid voice and bad acting I hope they kill off her character before the series ends
Maybe it’s the general cartoony-ness of the show, but I keep expecting her to get a grand piano dropped on her from the top of a skyscraper like Wiley Coyote.
Am I the only one that would pay almost anything to attend a Philharmonic concert that was just 70′s and 80′s TV theme songs?
Only if Tracy Morgan hosts.
I’d settle for the 4 hour concert of the Sanford and Sons theme
I can’t remember, I can’t remember what it was.
JAMMED!
Ludgated, Perkinsed, Knopesed. This is a terrible reply. I just want my Human Farm badge.
I love that you can see the accent on Ben’s face in #10. Adam Scott just keeps getting funnier.
Biden’s appearance was perfect, and from what I caught of The Office Jan is still quite attractive
I’m surprised that Jan never dated Toby. That would have been perfect. Michael hates Toby. Toby having sex with Michael’s ex would drive him nuts. Jan has a control-freak thing, bordering on dominatrix, and Toby is a sad sack with no ability to stand up for himself. A lot of dynamics they could have worked with.
GIFs please?:
“Don’t you play stupid and handsome with me!”
“You’re as guilty as you are sexy!”
I really hope the firing of Hazel is the last of her on 30 Rock. Schaal is great on Bob’s Burgers, but I’ve never liked her in anything else. Since it is 30 Rock’s last season, I’d prefer them to victory lap w/characters we love rather than shove Hazel down our throats.
If someone can just post a deluge of Adam Scott reaction shots from Parks & Recs, I will be eternally grateful.
“I want every copy of this DVD removed from stores, burned, and melted into a statue of you apologizing to me.”
“i used to watch pulp fiction and laugh”
Municipal Bond? Awesome.
Can’t believe I missed this.
