We’ll have much more on Boardwalk Empire next Monday, after its sure to be bloody season three finale airs, but last night’s episode, “Two Imposters,” and the season in general, was and has been fantastic. Dustin’s been trying to convince me that excluding Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and Game on Thrones, Boardwalk is the best drama on TV right now — he might be right, that crazy-as-Gillian bastard. Awwwww Sssnnnaapppsss!!!
*My reaction to Harrow grabbing his guns*
It was sooo good
I cannot wait to see Richard executing some motherfuckers. His meticulousness just builds the rage.
Harrow is so boss.
He already showed Thompson his loyalty….and we all can see nothing is going to get between him and protecting the kiddo…
I hope he doesn’t die.
The one thing missing from this season was a critical mass of Harrow killings… I expect they’ll make up for lost time in the finale.
I like the preview scene where his mask is dripping with blood… It is going to be epic!
Easily my favorite character on the show. Although now that Capone seems to be becoming the man we all know from the history books, Richard may have a challenger for favorite character.
I’m pretty sure he’s prepared to go. But he’s gonna take a lot of mf’s with him!
Late to the party and all, but HOLY SHIT is the finale going to be the shit. I can’t wait to see how they wrap everything up. And seriously, can we kill off Nucky’s wife yet? Can’t stand that character.
The dialogues involving Margaret in general, and between Margaret and Owen, should eliminate it from the “best” discussion.
Or the hamfisted juggling scene.
Or the hamfisted church scene.
Or the hamfisted general’s hat scene.
Last night was amazing. Can’t wait for the bloodage.
That Capone line at the end … so looking forward to next week’s episode. This season has not been great, but has had some great moments.
I admit that it seemed like there were a lot of pointless plot threads and even for Boardwalk, the pace seemed pretty meandering, but all of it paid off so incredibly well last night.
Agreed, @yellow. Like the doctor who’s marrying Chalky’s daughter — the show dropped him for eight episodes, only for him to serve a meaningful purpose in the penultimate episode. Great plotting.
Yeah, all of these little scenes mean so much more because they set up all of it earlier on in the season. I just love how it all came together last night. Ugh, Sunday night cannot come soon enough.
TEAM GYP
Gyp is gonna be drinking terrier piss when its all over!
Holy shit, was this episode fan-fucking-tastic. I cannot wait for the finale. Harrow suiting up and Capone arriving at the end of the episode; there should be some amazing old timey mobster violence next week.
That overhead shot did prompt an Holy Shit! Awesome! I can’t wait to see what impact he makes.
Boardwalk has brought it every episode this season. It’s easily been one of, if not the, best shows on right now.
I’m interested to see what Capone’s end run here is that would have him side with an Irishman on his way out against fellow Italians (Rosetti and Masseria). Are we to assume that Torrio has left the country and has left Capone in charge of their entire operation? Doesn’t he also have Van Alden working for him now? Have we ever seen a scene where Eli and Capone have met? Just curious as to why Eli would have chosen another Italian to go to for help instead of trying to call in the Irish cavalry. Going to be a great next episode.
Because business trumps ethnic solidarity.
there was a point this season when i was prepared to give up on the show around the 4th or 5th episode. Too much time spent on Nucky and that girl who went kablooey and I havent cared for Gip at all, we get it, your Italian and angry. Finally though since they got rid of whats her name in that explosion, it’s been great, and the end last nite with Capone was awesome
To me Gyp has been a nice refresher. To often now a days the villain has been some dude who likes to scheme and is smart and all that jazz. Gyp is just a dumb oaf who doesn’t do too much thinking.
and yet… you have a point.
Its disappointing to me that you guys give little to no coverage of Homeland. Much better than Boardwalk at this point.
Holy hell am I excited for this. Between this and the Walking Dead midseason finale, next Sunday is going to be epic. RICHARD HARROW!!!
Fingers crossed on Jimmy’s mom getting the axe.
I’ll second that.
As much as I want her to die, I want Margaret to get it even worse. She’s pointless on the show now.
I love Chalky’s son-in-law disgusted by the family business! Time to get your fingers dirty kid…IN BLOOD!
