Off the top of your head, which character on The Walking Dead do you think has killed the most zombies? OK, yeah, it’s Rick Grimes. Well, who’s slain the SECOND most? Dammit. You’re right, it’s Daryl, courtesy of his creeping crabbing. How about THIRD most? Didn’t think so, smart guy. Plus, do you know the exact number of zombies each member of the Rickocracy (and beyond) has put down, and how they did it? Was it a gun? A shovel? A rock? A tree branch? Then do we have a graphic for you, thanks to the National Post:
While AMC lets The Walking Dead gang take a short mid-season break – the Post’s Andrew Barr and Richard Johnson look at a few of the key statistics of two-and-a-half season’s worth of undead mayhem. They find noteworthy – the gradual increase in the body count, the increasingly creative means of Zombie dispatch, and the fact that every character seems to have developed a clear enjoyment for putting the ambulatory cadavers down for good. The graphic is massive, so it may take a second to load, but remembering the time T-Dog finished off the “well zombie” is worth your computer freaking out a little. And then pour out a 40 for the great dawg in the sky.

Head over to the National Post’s website to see the full chart. It’s pretty damn awesome.

While you’re waiting for it to load.
It’s okay to find that sexy, right?
No judgement here, Billybob.
Are you imagining that you’re the zombie?
Carl doesn’t get credit for Lori? I guess she wasn’t fully turned yet, but I would’ve allowed it.
Yeah, I was just thinking I would have given Rick one for Dale. And… wait, who was it finished Oscar? Was it Maggie?
“On Screen” kills only.
But Maggie shot Oscar on screen?
But he hadn’t turned yet
Didn’t Daryl take out Dale?
Despite their traditional role in zombie-killing media, the characters seem to have completely given up on shotguns. I guess the bulky ammo, low rate of fire, and lack of silencers make them a poor choice.
Andrea was a serious c-c-c-c-c-combo breaker for Hershel there.
The absence — not just an infrequency, mind you, but a complete absence — of one character on all this just drives home an important point: Dale was freaking USELESS.
He was overpowered by one zombie. Not bitten; overpowered. Living in zombieland, you would think getting in shape would be a priority.
Cardio, and limbering up.
Shouldn’t Rick get a partial for Herschel’s leg?
i wish they had shane on their. im curious to how many hes killed before he died
there* (not their)…. finals week is coming up. i should probably spell correctly..
A quick count shows Shane had 29. Shockingly, only had 1 in season one.
Really? Even in the episode with the attack on the camp?
I think Carl deserves extra credit for taking out Shane (badass) and his Mom (annoying bitch). I think Carl might become the best character on the show if he takes out Carol. Who, by the way, has only managed to kill 5 zombies in 4 years, 4 by nagging and one by crying.
I’d actually be curious to know how many T-Dog (R.I.P. you magnificent bastard) took out
Best. Infographic. Ever.
so cool. interesting Andrea is 3rd…
Andrea’s last stand at the end of season 2 accounted for quite a few and I could have sworn that she had a few rage sessions upon finding locked up zombies but I’ve looked over the list a few times now and I can’t find a bunch of her kills grouped together.
Now it truly feels like Xmas.
Wow, that was pretty cool. Kinda makes me want to go back and re-watch the seasons since the graphic plays out seemingly in order. Interesting to see how some weapons, outside of specialty weapons i.e. Merle’s arm, chair leg, golf ball, only come up in certain seasons. .And the lack of a single shotgun kill in this season is surprising.
What about zombie Randall? Didn’t Glenn kill him?
I was looking for that one as well.
