Raising Hope (Fox, 8 p.m.) — We made it all the way to December 11 — only 10 days before we all perish — before a sitcom decided to do a Mayan Calendar end-of-the-world storyline. Leave it to Raising Hope to connect it to an extreme coupon-ing subplot.
Happy Endings (ABC, 9 p.m.) — Jane and Alex’s parents show up tonight to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of their mattress business, although I’m a little disappointed that the casting department couldn’t find anyone better than Christopher McDonald and Julie Hagerty to play the parents. Not casting Keifer Sutherland as Alex’s Dad is a wasted opportunity.
New Girl (Fox, 9 p.m.) — Olivia Munn’s stripper character returns, as does Jess’ booty call, David Walton. Coincidentally, both Olivia Munn and David Walton were in a sitcom together two years ago. It was called Perfect Couples. It was not good.
Rizzoli and Isles (TNT, 9 p.m.) — Never seen an episode, though I understand that the show is very popular among lesbians.
Parenthood (NBC, 10 p.m.) — A Christmas episode. In the hospital. Bring your Kleenex, folks.
LATE NIGHT LISTINGS: Amanda Seyfriend is on Dave; Ewen McGregor appears on Leno; Kimmel has Leslie Mann; Betty White shows up on Ferguson; Anne Hathaway does Fallon; Laura Linney is on Jon Stewart, and Malcolm Gladwell will be on The Colbert Report.

I remember Perfect Couples as sort of a Happy Endings prototype.

Never seen Rizzoli & Isles, but yes, from every clip and still every pulled from this show you can easily picture the two enjoying a nice box lunch.
I thought Perfect Couples was ok. We watched it because it had most of the cast of the awesome Worst Week, including my fantasy best friend Kyle Bornheimer.
But it was no Traffic Light. Or was it exactly the same? Wait, what was Traffic Light again?
I actually kind of enjoyed Perfect Couples, in the way you love a show you can throw on a few episodes back to back and get a few laughs- its kind of like the family version of Go On for me
I agree. Perfect Couples was as funny as Happy Endings was when it started up. If it got the chance to figure itself out that Happy Endings had it would be just as good if not better.
New Girl is really pushing its luck bringing back David “Sitcom Cancer” Walton back for another episode.
Note: I like him, he just dooms shows. It’s science.
Go On did an “end of the world” type episode last week.
Was just gonna say the same thing. Dustin stopped watching that one because it had “no hope of getting better” even though it’s better now.
Perfect Couples ruined Olivia Munn for me. And that shouldn’t happen to anyone. I mean, have you seen Magic Mike!?

I’m with you Armor. Perfect Couples (and to a much lesser extent, The Daily Show) ruined the amazing stigma around Olivia Munn for me. Then again, I have not (and really don’t plan on watching) Magic Mike, so good on her if she re-deemed herself,

Shooter is a goddamn national treasure, and so is Julie Hagerty.
There was a story that the cast of Happy Endings is so insular that no one wants to guest star with them. Hence the casting for Jane’s parents. But I agree with everyone above – Shooter was doing finger guns when it was still considered hokey.
The Happy Endings episode must have leaked, I watched it a couple days ago without knowing it hadn’t aired yet. It’s another pretty good one, Alex’s dad is great
Perfect Couples was legit. Don’t forget ‘The Waitress’ was from Perfect Couples and was on an episode of ‘New Girl’ as dude’s ex. Reunion episode is coming.
Kiefer **as it’s spelled** would have been great as Alex’s dad, if her parents storylines were reversed.
