Cobie Smulders May Appear In Joss Whedon’s S.H.I.E.L.D. (And The Morning Links)

Who knows, for sure, if Cobie Smulders — who played Agent Maria Hill in The Avengers — will actually be able to appear in Joss Whedon’s S.H.I.E.L.D. should it go to series, but Smulders is not precluding the possibility. In fact, an interview with I Am Rogue, she teased that it was a definite possibility: “The commitments to [How I Met Your Mother] don’t affect it. And I can’t really say, but there are definite talks about it.” She continued, “I’m very excited. I will do Maria Hill until they fire me and hire someone else to do it.” What that means, exactly, I don’t know, but given how generic the existing cast is — with the exception of Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulson — Smulders would definitely add some spark — and ratings — to the series.
