Fringe (Friday, Fox 8 p.m.) — Cue the Boys II Men song, folks, as J.J. Abrams’ Fringe bids the television landscape adieu after five seasons (what will you watch next?). We’re sad to see you go, but we also understand that it’s time, and I never thought I’d say this about Fox, but thanks for keeping a low-rated show around long enough to let it runs its course. Also, I love Anna Torv, but I get the distinct feeling that we won’t see much of her anymore, at least until she and Beckett make an awesome lesbian supermodel-turned buddy cop show after Castle is cancelled.
Best Week Ever (VH1, Friday 10 p.m.) — Hey! Remember VH1′s Best Week Ever, that show that got cancelled in 2009 after five years on air? Well, it’s back. Does that mean the website, BestWeekEver, will be back, too? I guess not.
Ripper Street (BBC American, Saturday 9 p.m.) — The new original series starring Matthew Macfadyen and Jerome Robinson (Bronn from Game of Thrones) premieres tomorrow. I did a critic’s round-up for it over on Pajiba, but the gist of it is this: Not a very original show, but it boasts great performances and good writing, it’s better than Copper, and it’s definitely worth a shot.
Saturday Night Live (NBC, Saturday 11:35 p.m.) — Jennifer Lawrence. That is all.
Girls (HBO, Sunday 9 p.m.) — Even if you hate HBO’s Girls, you should watch this episode if you like Donald Glover, because he is OUTSTANDING in it.
Shameless (Showtime, Sunday 9 p.m.) — But you should also watch Shameless because EVERYONE is outstanding in this show.
