Today the lovely and talented beautiful tropical fish Rashida Jones celebrates her birthday. And like I always say, there's no better excuse to put together a succinct GIF collection than a birthday excuse. She often goes overlooked with all the Ron Swansons and Andy Dwyers and April Ludgates in the picture, but Jones' Ann Perkins has been a marvelous key player in a marvelous season of the only thing NBC currently has going for it. Even if she is terrible at metaphors. So let's take a moment to acknowledge that Rashida Jones learned to be funny despite having nothing to compensate for with ten definitive Ann Perkins GIFs.
Disclaimer: This collection is in no way definitive.

Jerry and April dancing in the background of 7 absolutely kills me.
<3 Rashida Jones forever
Happy Birthday, you beautiful musk ox.
Ann Perkins, you beautiful spinster. I hope you get your baby soon.
Ann Perkins is the most improved character on P&R because honestly, she was kinda insufferable during that first season (but not worse than Mark Brendanawicz/Brendanaquitz).
Seriously, name a show that’s been better over its run at identifying its weaknesses and strengthening them. Really impressive when you think about it. Pretty much every character applies.
Couldn’t agree more. The difference from the first season when they were trying to be The Office feat. a Female Michael Scott and today is unbelieveable.
I like to think their couldn’t strenghten the Brendanawicz character so they just had to fire him.
They found a way to make Ann funny and endearing while still playing the straight (wo)man.
That episode where Donna is trying to teach her how to flirt is priceless.
“Are you Nell, from the movie Nell?”
Once they unshackled her from Andy she really grew as a character.
Andy too — once he became more than the shitty boyfriend, he took off.
Andy turned from affable bro and shitty boyfriend into a glue-eating retard from the first season to the third. I say that (although he gets some laughs) his character is the exception to the rule and has only gotten worse.
Ann’s inability to flirt is adorable.
And I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: I want Donna to be my flirting coach.
Wow, she’s 37 already? My crush on her will never age…
I am not going to lie, swooning occurs when Ann Perkins arrives on screen.
Or Karen Filippelli, were I to be watching old episodes of The Office.
Only thing NBC has going for it?
Bite me. I may be alone, but I still like Community. Even the bastardized version that was destined to be criticized to death once Harmon was fired.
Also, I would do unspeakable and lovely things to Rashida Jones.
You are alone.
Fine. FINE. YOU can’t come to my Community super-fun party on Thursday, ralph.
/weeps quietly into Community: Season 2 DVD case
They were referring to ratings.
Ehhh, this site has kind of implied that the writers aren’t terribly thrilled with Season 4 so far either. And that’s okay. It is completely different.
i also still like community
Just watched the first 3 episodes of Community this weekend. Oof, not good. Devoid of jokes/humor. They’d be better off just making the multicamera version from Abed’s imagination. I’d take Fred Willard over Chevy.
I too, still love the Community. this site be damed
I can’t stand the outfits they put her in on this show. Lets have an episode where she realizes she is actually hot and starts dressing to impress.
It’s Pawnee. That is the “dress to impress” wardrobe for that town. But I totally agree — it’d be nice if she were able to show off the goods now and then.
Love her. That is all.
