I’m not normally one to specifically judge an actress based upon her sexiness, but since this is CBS’s Bad Teacher — based on the Cameron Diaz film — the character’s sexual appeal is central to the premise. They made it an issue, damnit. My hands are tied. Last month, I suggested 11 Gorgeous Unemployed Actresses who’d be perfect for the role (notably, Yvonne Strahovski), but CBS ignored all my suggestions and chose Ari Graynor (Fringe, The Sopranos) instead. Not a bad choice, but STRAHOVSKI! Damn it. COME ON. Graynor is not even the right character type. You fail, CBS. (via)

Wait, who was she on Fringe? Was she Olivia’s sister? I honestly don’t remember.
Either way, anyone is an improvement over Cameron Diaz, who is PAINFULLY annoying.
I had to google her to see what she did on Fringe. I woulda never made that connection.
She was Olivia’s sister and I somehow completely forgot about her too.
Wow so all these Fringe fans (myself included) and none of us remembered her, that’s some forgettable acting, doesn’t bode well.
I think of Ari as the sassy BFF who delivers the zinger and then exits stage left. Never thought of her as a lead.
I was on a flight with Ari last year; and by “with” I mean she was in first class and I had to pass through first class to get to my seat in the back with all of the chattle. She’s pretty.
Strong comedy chops are way more important than looking like Yvonne Strahovski. Hopefully she, uh, has those.
I actually think Ari will be great in this role. I’ve only seen her in small roles like in “Nick & Nora’s Playlist” but she was a scene-stealer and the funniest part of that movie. Plus, she is not unattractive. So, she’s funny & she’s pretty. What more do you want? The show could be a big steaming pile of crap no matter who stars in it. We shall see.
