Well here’s an interesting development from the world of comedy: Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, and Reggie Watts have joined forces to launch their own YouTube channel called JASH. (No, I have no idea what it stands for.) From the press release we received this morning…
JASH gives comedians and artists a platform to create and control their own digital content and fully share in the revenues. JASH is already attracting top-tier talent by providing them with the financing, production resources, editing facilities and personnel to create quality online videos. All collaborating partners will be given complete autonomy to make short films, sketches, series, one-offs, talk-shows, animation and music videos. The goal of JASH is to gather the most distinct and brightest talent to form a comedy artists’ collective.

If not for Tim and Eric I would actually be excited about this. Can’t stand those fucking goons.
Likewise, this would be actively awesome otherwise, but with them, I’m at best cautiously willing to maybe check it out. Tim and Eric are so fucking awful.
THANK YOU! I’m so sick and tired of people who act like those jackasses are the pinnacle of comedy. I’ve sat through episodes of their crap without laughing once.
Then again, while I don’t dislike him like I do Tim and Eric, I don’t see what Reggie Watts’ appeal is, and I do consider Michael Cera to be my nemesis.
Watts is delightful on Comedy Bang Bang and his satire of rap culture “Fuck Shit Stack” is one of the pinnacles of musical comedy, for me. As for Michael Cera, as I’m considered to be his spitting image by a lot of people, I suppose that means we’re enemies now, Kevin.
