At roughly the same time as two Walking Dead characters got physically reacquainted with each other last night, Adam from Girls was demanding Shiri Appleby crawl on all fours to his bedroom, where he did something(s) naughty to her before, ahem, “finishing” on the Roswell‘s star chest. It started out playful(ish) before morphing into the most uncomfortable scene in an episode that also involved a doctor pulling a bloody Q-Tip out of Lena Dunham’s ear.
In short, it was 2013′s most awkward TV sex scene (it should have been soundtracked by a menacing Nine Inch Nails song, through the silence made it that much more cringeworthy), and I say that knowing it’s only March. Here’s the full thing (begins at 24:00), though be warned, it’s very NSFW. Even Littlefinger would feel weird.
Naturally, Bret Easton Ellis thought it was basically the best thing to ever happen on TV…
So…yeah. Congrats, Roswell fans? Also, Allison Williams’s sang Kanye West’s “Stronger.”
Makes Lana Del Rey’s SNL performance look soulful by comparison.

My jaw was dropped for a good ten minutes after the show. Easily the best episode of the season. Makes up for the previous 8 episodes of cunty-ness.
Adam is about the only reason to watch the show imo. The pretty girl is a cunt, lena is grossballs, shoshanna is a cartoon character, and the british one is just there sometimes.
Way back in the first episode I thought Adam would just be an insufferable douchebag put in there to make the lead seem more sympathetic, but it turns out he’s probably the only genuinely likeable character on the show.
I kinda think Ray is alright.
You’re with me, Hammer. I remember watching the first season thinking Adam was treating her like shit. Then he bitched and moaned about how she treated him, and it opened my eyes. Hannah was the dickbag in that relationship.

OH NO IT (I don’t know if you’re male or female..sorry) DI’INT, OH NO IT DI’INT…Wrestling has better actors in it than every person on this show..and are far more interesting.
It’s hard to believe that Girls is a really successful show.
It’s not. Reruns of Bill O’Rielly get better ratings.
But our cultural “betters” insist that this is important stuff, so we hear about it all the time.
I think that’s what causes most of the backlash against the show and Dunham. “Veep” gets about 1/100th of the media coverage that “Girls” does. People’s tastes vary and that’s fine, but “Girls” is being pushed extremely hard for no real reason.
It’s being pushed real hard because Lena Dunham is a promising filmmaker… but a far, far better self-promoter.
Unfortunately, this show makes her look like Henry Jaglom with a vagina (I mean that artistically).
This was basically the “You suck at sex, bro” story from Brobible that Uproxx linked to last week.

I liked that column because it mocks bros on their home field, but this show is not exactly breaking new ground that people in their 20s suck at sex and try weird shit – that’s a benefit of being in your 20s.

The shows made some significant leaps forward this season. That episode was as cringeworthy as Black Swan. It’s gone from a confused, awkward attempt at showcasing the generation to a genuinely interesting and occasionally heartbreaking character study. Adam’s a truly great character, it’s a shame Dunham thinks that that mixes well with the caricatures populating the rest of the cast (mainly the British girl and Shoshanna). Next season could be great if she continues improving.
Well, good thing she saved her shower.
That was the first I’ve ever seen of Girls. Yeesh.

This was the first time I’ve ever seen this show. It straddled the line between quirky, awkward, and hipster. Everyone dresses like they go to art school. I mean it was ok. Nothing special. It seemed like all the actors were pushing to get a point across. The music was ok though
The singing was much worse than the sex.. although dude was a 4 pump chump
The sex scenes in this show are disgusting and make my skin crawl.
