Yesterday, we told you about Colin Mochrie’s mysterious “Whose Line is coming back” tweet, which perked the interest of fans of using props not for their intended purpose everywhere. Also, singing while drinking, something no one had ever done before Ryan Stiles did it. We had no idea if he was telling the truth, or making us unwillingly participate in the second worst Whose Line game yet (right after Two Line Vocabulary), until the news was confirmed later in the evening by The CW…if you know what I mean. Actually, that’s pretty straightforward.
Whose Line Is It Anyway?, which had a successful eight-season run on ABC, is coming back to American television, this time on the CW. The network has picked up a new take on the British format to air this summer. Comedian Aisha Tyler, co-host of The Talk, which airs on the CW sibling CBS, will host…Returning are Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie, who starred on the ABC series. (Via)
Not that I ever respected Deadline, but if I ever had, it would now be gone — AISHA TYLER IS ARCHER‘S LANA KANE, NOT CO-HOST OF THE TALK. *breathes into a paper bag, which can also be used as the world’s smallest pyramid* Apologies. Anyway, the show’s three best improvisers are returning, but what about musicians Laura Hall and Linda Taylor? It’s time we reignite the, “So…are they, y’know…lovers?” national debate.

Needs more Proops.
Nothing has ever needed more Proops. Needs more Brad.
I’d forgotten how much I loved that show. But thank God no Drew.
I want to see H. Jon Benjamin and Dave Chappelle do guest spots.
How about H. Jon and anyone in the world other than Dave Chappelle?
They should add Chelsea Perretti to the cast, I think she’d do well with the improve format. Also, she’s hilarious and beautiful, win-win-win.
I liked Drew as the straight man. You kinda need one for the show.
I liked Drew for all of Ryan’s jokes at his expense.
I enjoyed Drew up until he tried to do improv at the end of each show. That was God awful
I’m immensely worried about Aisha Tyler’s involvement in this.
I am worried about the CW’s involvement in this
Aisha Tyler is a goddess, mmkay? And the CW should be alright. They’ve got Supernatural, for God’s sake.
Really??? Aside from the shit that is The Talk, her Archer involvement and her past turn as host of Talk Soup make me okay with it,
I take it back. I’m watching The Talking Dead now… She is a guest…. And it’s the worst!
Saying Tapioca in a Desi Arnaz voice should not be that goddammed funny.
i love this show! if only it were picked up by hbo or showtime or whatever, then they could swear and do more offensive/ inappropriate things without worrying about the censor
That’s the easy way out, anyone with one quarter of a brain can go blue for a cheap laugh, the genius level at which Ryan, Colin and Brad (not forgetting Chip and Greg) can make you laugh while being clever is why the show lasted 8 seasons. Aisha is sort of funny but nowhere near clever enough to go up against these titans.
OMG this is Fricken amazing. this news nearly brought a tear to my eye. mine, and perhaps every one else’s, favorite show is coming back.
So they’re fully intent on milking a throw-back show like ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ with a terribly unfunny host, and on a channel that is now known for only having one decent show? Great idea! Can’t wait to see what other awful female “comedians” they bring on, because this show is going to crash and burn, unless the classic cast can carry the show /entirely/.
Aisha Tyler is a fierce bitch. I’m excited to see what she does with it.
I don’t want a “fierce bitch”, I want a noteworthy comedian that is actually funny AND good at improv.
