School Administrator Uses Student's Bikini Photo For Internet Safety Seminar; Girl Sues For $2 Million

When you upload a photo to Facebook, you never know who’s going to look at it (besides everyone on Facebook and eventually, Reddit). It could be your ex-boyfriend, ex-girlfriend, mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, Cousin Johnny who’s always been a little too touchy feely for your liking, or an entire school district. Rachel Stockman, now a college freshman, is suing her former high school’s Director of Technology for $2 million after he used a “bikini-clad” photo of her “at a district wide seminar…to prove a point about the risks of social media.”

I’m bringing the clip below to your attention for two reasons: 1) note the number of times the camera cuts to Rachel’s photo, where she can be seen standing next to a cardboard cutout of Snoop LionDogg holding a can of Blast; and 2) Rachel’s standing next to a cardboard cutout of Snoop LionDogg holding a can of Blast. Hopefully Rachel learned an important lesson: never stand next to a cardboard cutout of Snoop LionDogg holding a can of Blast.
