The Internet Came Up With The Perfect Ending To ‘Dexter’

If you’re just catching up, last night’s eighth-season episode of Dexter, was surprisingly not bad, which is about the best that can be said for a Dexter episode so far this season. The morning after pieces and interviews are now rolling in. It was a turning point for Deb, so says Jennifer Carpenter in an interview with THR. Carpenter says that Debra will come to a tenuous understanding with Dexter’s Dark Passenger, and while she will never embrace it, she may be able to “co-exist” with his psychopathy. Michael C. Hall, meanwhile, agrees with Carpenter that Debra’s character has finally hit rock bottom and will begin now to emerge and perhaps repair her relationship with Dexter.

But the best thing I’ve read about the final season of Dexter today is a fan theory (via Reddit) that emerged out of 4Chan. It is basically PERFECT.

The tea leaves throughout the season have been pointing to the death of Dexter in the finale, and this theory meshes with that. But it’s also a happy ending. A just ending. A surprise ending. And a crowd pleaser.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the perfect ending to Dexter:

I didn’t think it could be done, but that’s even better than the Masuka theory.
