Watch Jason Bateman, Ed Helms, Jason Sudeikis, & Will Forte Make Fun Of Mumford & Sons In Their New Video

The Walmart camping section version of woodsmen in Mumford & Sons are about as annoyingly earnest as they come. Every emotion is huge, every fist is clenched as tight as an antique bear trap, every pant leg is covered with a requisite amount of dust, not so much that they’re considered “dirty,” but not so little that they lose their humble, by gosh folksiness, either. Mumford seem too earnest, too emotionally manipulative for their own good, like they’re unable to laugh at themselves, but maybe I’m wrong. Except for the pant leg thing. That’s definitely accurate.

In the music video for “Hopeless Wanderer” (hahaha), the guys in Mumford are replaced with Jason Bateman, Ed Helms, Jason Sudeikis, and Will Forte, wearing the finest beard left over from the “Amish Paradise” music video, who passionately parody the band’s signature strumming, vest-wearing sound. They sing until they’re sobbing and literally red in the face, and the only thing missing is the video ending with everyone’s heads exploding from intensity.

Or with Leslie Nielsen doing the Moonwalk, like any good caricature.
