Still reeling from tonight’s Breaking Bad? Well hold on to your gosh-darn hats because HBO just released the trailer for their new dramatic series True Detective and oh my god does it look good. The drama follows Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as two detectives who chase a serial killer across Louisiana over the course of seventeen years.
According to HBOwatch, the first season is an eight episode event drama – so (and I’m not an official source our anythin’ but) expect eight one-hour episodes, and a premiere date of either the 5th, 12th, 19th or 26th of January. The end of the trailer (which is right below) points to a site called DarknessBecomesYou.com and while the site itself is wonderfully spooky it offers very little more information other than an email list and the tagline: “When you touch the darkness… the darkness touches you back.” Presumably they aren’t talking about the 2003’s one-hit-wonder band The Darkness.
Expect big things from True Detective… it looks rad.
