Last month, we told you about Kevin Cordasco, the young Breaking Bad mega-fan who died after a six-year battle with neuroblastoma. He was offered the opportunity to know what happens in the show’s finale from none other than Vince Gilligan himself, but Cordasco declined; he passed away soon after. As ever: f*ck cancer.
But according to the Wrap, Cordasco contributed a key plot point to the penultimate episode, “Granite State.”
“Kevin, who was our wonderful, No. 1 fan…he told me that first day I spent with him, visiting him, he told me what he liked about the show and I said, ‘Is there something you feel is missing from the show?’” Gilligan said on the “Breaking Bad Insider” podcast. “He said, ‘You know what, I want to know more about Gretchen and Elliott. I want to know more about Walt’s backstory with them. I want to know what happened.’”
Gilligan added: “I can’t promise you you will ever get your complete knowledge of that situation to your total satisfaction, but the very fact that Kevin mentioned Gretchen and Elliott led us — the writers and I — to reintroduce them, reincorporate them into the story.” (Via)
Let me get this straight: Cordasco’s pitch led to an exiled mad man marching back to Albuquerque, to (probably) gun down some old business partners and Nazis with M60s and (maybe) slip Lydia a pocketful of Ricin? I need to redo every Breaking Badass Power Rankings, and put him at the top.
