Watch 'Don't Smash My Pumpkin,' The Great Taran Killam Sketch Cut From Last Night's 'SNL'

With the exception of the Wes Anderson horror-movie spoof, the Pumpkin Spice douche commercial, and Ed Norton’s wacky brilliant 10-1 sketch, last night’s Saturday Night Live was fairly abysmal. Ed Norton was game, but he’s about as relevant as Dana Carvey was when he hosted in 2011, nearly 20 years after he’d done anything of note (Wayne’s World 2), and the writers didn’t help the Norton out. Given how lame the episode was, it makes no sense to me why they’d scrap “Don’t Smash My Pumpkin,” the Taran Killam-led “We Are the World” style song dedicated to Killam’s creepy love for his jack-o-lanterns.

Maybe they couldn’t get the music rights? Maybe there were already too many pre-taped segments? I dunno, all I know is that the show would’ve been a lot better with this video, and without “12 Days Not a Slave” and the Critter Creatures sketch. Ugh.
