Parks and Recreation (NBC, 8 p.m.) — Your Parks and Recreation/Veronica Mars/Party Down crossover fan fiction comes that much closer to actually happening when Leslie and Ben meet Eagleton city councilor Ingrid de Forest, as played by Kristen Bell (!). No word on whether the rest of the doppelgängers show up, but a C-plot of Ann bringing April to vet school orientation should be enough to distract you from a lack of Sam Elliott.
MLB Playoffs (TBS, 5:30 p.m.) — The Pirates travel to St. Louis to play the Cardinals, followed by Yasiel “RUINING BASEBALL AS WE KNOW IT” Puig and the Dodgers against the Braves in Atlanta.
Thursday Night Football (NFL, 8:25 p.m.) — “OH BOY, BILLS VS. BROWNS ON THURSDAY” — no one.
The Millers (CBS, 8:30 p.m.) — Series premiere. Starring Will Fartnett and Margo Fartindale.
Sean Saves the World (NBC, 9 p.m.) — Series premiere. This show is getting terrible reviews, so it’s best to pretend it, as well as Welcome to the Family, never happened and just watch 30 Rock repeats instead.
The Michael J. Fox Show (NBC, 9 p.m.) — The first two episodes were decent enough to continue watching, as long as the show drops the wacky aunt. She’s as awful as Michael J. Fox is charming.
Parenthood (NBC, 10 p.m.) — “Julia discovers that she has a lot in common with a school parent volunteer.” “School parent volunteer” is such a Parenthood term.
Scandal (ABC, 10 p.m.) — Season premiere. Oh, hey, Kerry Washington.
Childrens Hospital/NTSF: SD: SUV:: (Adult Swim, 12 a.m.) — Still on, still excellent.
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Brian Williams on Letterman; Julianne Moore on Leno; Katie Lowes and John Mayer on Kimmel; Diane Kruger and Ken Jeong on Ferguson; Meredith Vieira on Fallon; Jerry O’Connell, Lauren Cohan, and Erin Foley on Conan; Kerry Washington on Stewart; and David Finkel on Colbert.
