The History Channel Is ‘Live Tweeting’ John F. Kennedy’s Fateful Trip To Dallas

Tomorrow marks the 50th anniversary of the day that John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas, or if you’re a conspiracy theorist, it’s the day that a second gunman on the grassy knoll or an alien with a super laser sniper rifle on the moon killed Kennedy. Either way, it’s the anniversary of one of the darkest days in American history, and that’s why folks in Dallas are honoring it the only way any American can – by profiting from it by selling souvenirs.

Fortunately, the History Channel is using Twitter as an educational tool heading into tomorrow’s darkest hours of November 22, 1963, and the network that gives us such amazing shows as Pawn Stars (I’m kidding) and Ancient Aliens (I’m actually quite serious) is “live Tweeting” President Kennedy’s arrival in Dallas.

And that’s just a taste of what went down on Nov. 21, 1963. But here’s my favorite of today’s Tweets thus far:

Might wanna leave that top on, fellas.

Tomorrow’s Tweets will obviously be a lot more serious and interesting to read as they unfold, but I can only hope that Twitter’s biggest celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber weigh in with their own thoughts on the assassination, because if we think people Tweet dumb stuff now, I can’t even imagine what it would have been like if social media existed in 1963.
