The ‘Daily Show’ Delivered Another One Of Its Patented Fox News Takedowns Last Night

I did not watch Bill O’Reilly’s pre-Super Bowl interview with President Obama, mainly because I don’t like mixing politics with my bloated sporting spectacles, especially if doing so involves Fox News in even the slightest way. A man has to have standards, after all.

But it apparently was everything you’d expect it to be — a classic combative hit job that focused on Obama’s legitimate failings (the Obamacare website rollout, etc.) along with ones manufactured by Fox News (Benghazi, IRS corruption, etc.). Along the way, O’Reilly accused the president of trying to distract Americans from his scandals.

“Brilliant move,” Jon Stewart commented last night. “Distract the spotlight from your many scandals by doing an interview with Fox about them right before the most-watched event in the history of television.”

The whole piece, three segments in all, was one of the more blistering Fox News take downs the Daily Show has done in a while. Well worth a watch, in other words.
