Justin Timberlake Bringing MySpace Back?

Hey, remember how MySpace was relevant for, like, four years last decade before being purchased by Rupert Murdoch, right before it got utterly crushed by Facebook? Yeah, that was an ill-fated decision, huh?

Turns out, it was partially bought by…multi-faced superstar Justin Timberlake. According to a press release from Specific Media — the company that made the Myspace acquisition — Timberlake’s passion is helping other artists get more exposure, which we guess means your friend’s band still has a place to market their music.

It also apparently is aiming to become a destination for original video programming, in addition to streaming music. So, basically, the plan is to stop trying to be Facebook and start trying to be YouTube?
