Is it just me or has there been a flood of stuff related to The Wire on the web of late? Sure, David Simon's masterpiece on the city of Baltimore is one of the shows most beloved by the internet, but it seems as though lately there's a bit more tribute-y stuff out there than is usually the case. Perhaps that's because people have been using the TV dead zone that is the summer to watch the series on DVD? That's how I watched it -- over the course of one July a couple of years ago. Best period of reclusiveness I've ever spent!
Anyway, via Vulture, I ran across a Tumblr today that both mocks those ridiculous motivational posters every junior corporate executive hangs in his office and pays tribute to The Wire's greatness at the same time: Wire Inspire. And inspire it did -- it inspired me to watch The Wire again on HBO Go. How great is The Wire? KleinMania made a spreadsheet to illustrate just how great it is.
Yep, that's about right. Now be inspired and motivated by these Wire-inspired motivational posters. Some use actual lines from the show, some don't, but they're all pretty great.
