If you had Colin Quinn in your office’s “Next Celebrity to Have a Twitter Meltdown” pool, today’s your lucky day. Go ahead and collect your winnings.
Quinn, the former SNL Weekend Update guy, took to Twitter an hour or so ago and began revealing some of the darkest places in his soul. It started off well enough, with Quinn tweeting about how his career is suddenly taking off and good things are on the horizon, but then shifted abruptly to talking about the skeletons in his closet.
“I mean wish me the best because on the other side, there’s some really heavy stuff that could come out about me too. Real bad stuff,” Quinn wrote. “I mean unforgiveable. Really bad and serious charges. So that’s kind of hanging over my head, as well. It’s ugly stuff. Stuff that I keep saying no, I’ll never do that again, then it’s like I wake up and it’s like OH MY GOD! You know? I’ve done things…I mean we all have…that can never be taken back. Nobody can control their desires…Am I right, or am I right? Terrible things.
Quinn then transitioned to Will Ferrell, mentioning Ferrell being presented with the Mark Twain award for humor in passing before accusing his former SNL castmate of being a raging drug addict, in addition to being an idea thief.

As of this writing, Quinn is retweeting some of the @ replies he’s getting calling him a bitter, washed-up, talentless idiot. So there’s a chance he’s just being a troll, I suppose. Otherwise, cue the good ole “I was hacked” excuse as soon as Quinn’s flack finds out about this.

You don’t have to go too far back in his timeline to see that he’s been trolling twitter for a while. The serious replies…. Oh man, it doesn’t get old
Love “I was the shot caller.” Wasn’t Quinn in permanent “featuring” second billing in the intro?
Idea stealing is a way harsher charge than drug use.
Probably the least funny person on SNL ever. I mean Keenan Thompson will at least get dumb people to laugh. Quinn was the thinking man’s bad comic.
I thought it was funny having my fake news delivered to me by a guy who looks like he is having explosive diarrhea.
@Lance…If that is the case, that’s he’s trolling, then i don’t get what’s funny about it. At all. Trolling is humor vehicle for the lazy and talentless.
All twitter is trolling, yes? Otherwise it’s people’s unfettered running at the mouth, a sign of mental illness.
*will never understand Twitter*
I dunno. I only see the serious and self-important responses he retweets (as opposed to the ones he doesn’t RT), and that’s the stuff I laugh at. I guess I enjoy the predictability of him getting people fired up with every tweet. The best responses are of the “I ignored your rant about such-and-such, but [current thing] has gone too far” variety. I’m not going to attribute some Andy Kaufman-esque qualities to it, since that would be absurd and thinking into it way too much, but he obviously likes the pissing people off on twitter schtick. Even if it’s such a low-hanging fruit.
And now I’ve paid entirely too much thought to it all

Hello run-on summary sentence
Colin Quinn is a funny comedian, no doubt in my mind about it; but Lord have MERCY does he do twitter wrong. Virtually ALL of his many tweets are painfully lame, and odd.
Awhile back he said (on O&A I think) that anything a comedian does on Twitter has no affect on their ticket sales, then he set out to prove it.
No one really thought Colin was funny to begin with. He was a comic relief to Weekend Update after Norm MacDonald left. I guess it’s appropriate for him to be taking shots at people who have probably forgotten him altogether.
