While I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this trend in which people take to YouTube to ask celebrities on dates — it’s seems as though it’s kind of moved past the cute phase and is well on its way to becoming obnoxious — I kind of like this: perhaps inspired by seeing Justin Timberlake actually be someone’s date to the Marine Corps ball, in addition to seeing him play a cancer patient in 50/50, a 26 year-old with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer named Lindsey Miller took to YouTube to ask Joseph Gordon-Levitt to go on a date with her.
On her blog, she writes:
…after seeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s performance and seeing/reading some of his subsequent interviews about the film I thought, “This guy gets it. And he’s cute. I wonder if I could ever run into him somewhere.” But even though I live in LA, it seems impossible to find him.
Maybe YouTube can help…
OK, I admit: It’s ridiculous. And it feels like i’m making a big leap from being an anonymous cancer “liver” a few months ago to now starring in my own video.
But, life is short. So, why not?
I can’t be the only one wondering if anyone’s getting any celebrity a$s out of these things, can I?
NOW DO IT, JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT!

It’s my first thought anytime I see this. I’m assuming that marine got Timberlak’d
@Hustler…RIGHT?! I mean, she had to have hit that!
It’s just such a slippery slope from pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer survivor to glandular, conjoined-twin-myslexia sufferer with a bad case of halitosis.
@cajun well its up the celeb right? Everyone going on twitter is secretly hoping that the night ends this way. If the celeb is up for it, that’s all it takes (I’m assuming)….
Timberlake almost definitely made that marine chick open the box.
