I hesitated to embrace Wikipedia front man and staring contest champion Jimmy Wales as the new Derek Zoolander when I saw the above image on Reddit. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s tremendous work and I love everything about it, but I’ve never seen Jimmy Wales in a walk off and I’ve received no assurances that Billy Zane has his back.
Then the below GIF came to be and I’ve learned the hard way that the internet wants what the internet wants so this is a thing now. Jimmy Wales is the new Derek Zoolander, a campaign guaranteed to raise funds more effectively than the current staring-at-your-mom-in-the-shower route Wikipedia has been taking.
