Reasons to love Game of Thrones are too numerous to name, but if a single one is responsible for how beloved the show is after only one season it's simply how relentlessly hardcore it is. Game of Thrones is not fantasy for kiddies. It's fantasy for grown a$s men. To set this tone from the beginning Jaime Lannister pushed 7 year-old Bran Stark out a window. And I found myself applauding inside.
So as part of my week long efforts to geek the masses for GOT's return, here are nine of the most hardcore GIFs from Season 1 to remind everyone of the badassery that is set to return in just a few short days. You think pushing some random kid off a window is hardcore? On Being Human they blew up a baby. On Misfits the good guys have killed more then two dozen people. And quite a few of them were innocent. Not to mention the main character accidentally impregnating himself after he recieved gender switching power and masturbated in both forms. Or the one who tripled(google it) a girl. Or the one who had sex with a gorilla…..People you don’t know the meaning of hardcore until you watch British shows

There’s good television hardcore (see: killing your protagonist with two episodes left in the first season) and there’s shock value teen message board hardcore (see: everything you just wrote).
Game of Thrones? Too mainstream
