The Avengers movie is officially a month away and the countdown is on like… Black Widow’s thong? Iron Man’s dong? (Insert: something that rhymes and makes me look clever.) In the midst of the hysteria I’m happy to share this under-the-radar Samuel L. Jackson/Nick Fury meme that has developed a bit of a cult following on Tumblr. It doesn’t really have a name that I’m aware of so I like to think of it as, “Nick Fury is really f*cking desperate for Avengers.”
All the meme involves is adding a response GIF that in no way has to do with the Avenger Initiative to Nick Fury being “here to talk to you about the Avenger Initiative.” They’re funny because they’re random! And as someone who likes to pretend Sam Jackson is speaking directly to him at all times (and was also a few rows back for this) it really hits a geeky sweet spot for me.
Kind of blowing the load early with this Predator one by Embarrassing and a Little Awkward, but the rest aren’t half bad. I’ve even included a handful at the end of my own making. Participation! Suggestions are welcome in the comments.
