I’m a sucker for pop culture art and all things facial hair (even on ladies as long as they’re introduced as “handsome”), so Beards by Chris Thornley couldn’t be more up my alley. The flowing, interlacing nature reminds us that all film beards are actually just a single beard, in spirit. Except for Seneca Crane’s beard. It’s the Whitesnake of facial hair.
First person to identify all the film beards correctly wins a reply from me where I pretend I could name them all off the top of my head. And if you’re more of a mustache person (totally understandable), an old friend welcomes you after the jump.

Is one of those guys Zak Galifinakis? Who’s the guy in the pilot hat?
Oddball from Kelly’s Heroes
Jeff Bridges (Big Lebowski), Hagrid (Harry Potter), Macready (The Thing), Bill Murray (Steve Zissou) Ones Al Pacino, don’t know the movie.is one from The Royal Tenenbaums Luke Wilson?? Vigo maybe at the bottom right??
Al Pacino with a beard is, I believe, “Serpico”. And that is Luke Wilson in the royal beard.
Gandalf, The Dude, Macready from The Thing, Hagrid, Serpico, Steve Zissou, Richie Tenanbaum, Jeremiah Johnson, Oddball/Donald Sutherland and I would assum Lee Marvin from something that’s not Paint Your Wagon.
Now I wanna know where da gold at…
That’s definitely Lee Marvin. No idea what from though. You nailed all the others.
Take your guess: [www.imdb.com]
“Hell in the Pacific Beard” or “The Wild One Beard”?
Is that not Sean Connery from Hunt for Red October? And that is definitely Pacino as Serpico.
