News unexpectedly broke early this morning of Tony Scott's death. Sources have since revealed that he had inoperable brain cancer and we've been remembering him around here.
Tony Scott's movies were at best brilliant and at worst watchable. If I had to pick my desert island Tony Scott movie it would without out a doubt be True Romance. It's often remembered as a Tarantino film but not nearly enough credit is given to the guy who brought to life stoner Brad Pitt, imaginary Elvis Val Kilmer, and Gary Oldman as a white pimp who thought he was black. So today I'd like to remember the Tony Scott project that gave us one of the all time great movie scenes (NSFW).
That a film with so many brilliant actors (and Bronson Pinchot) was headlined by Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette never ceases to amaze me. And I'm not ashamed to admit I thought of Gandolfini as "that guy from True Romance" well into season two of Sopranos. What follows might be considered by some NSFW.

My favorite film of all-time. Not sure anything will ever come along to knock it out of the top spot, either.
ditto.
I dunno which one qualifies as Tony Scott’s best though: Spy Game, Enemy of the State, or Man on Fire.
You’re so cool, Tony Scott.
You’re forgetting my favorite line: I don’t have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out. All I got is fuckin’ Floyd.
Don’t condescend me, man.
Gary Oldman as the coked out white boy Rasta for the win! For real, the Scotts are cinema royalty, I wish the collective nothing but love and best wishes………
You tell the angels in heaven you’ve never seen evil more singularly personified as you did in the face of the man that killed you…you got me in a vendetta kind of mood…
So wait….Elvis isn’t haunting everyone’s bathroom?
Hi. How are you? My name’s Elliot, and I’m with the Cub Scouts of America. We’re… we’re selling uncut cocaine to get to the jamboree.
I’ve got to dust off my copy of TR.
Ooh, that’s imaginative. I’ve got more taste in my penis.
Whatever happened to Christian Slater(‘s film career)?
Oldman sorta looks like Bradley Cooper… You ever notice how Oldman never looks like the same guy? I have it on good authority he actually played the island on Lost…
