The latest hashtag is the self-explanatory #YouWereHotUntil, which of course Twitter has run with as a way to be supportive, generous, and open-minded, like always. Needless to say, if you were desperately worried about being sexually appealing to the kind of person who follows hashtags on Twitter, they have plenty of advice for you.

Every time I read through one of these Twitter compilations I’m encouraged that we are on the cusp of an intellectual revolution. With names like “y0u f4gg0t” how can you not see the visionary thinking needed for advancing our society in the sciences and arts.

Every time I look at a national twitter trend out of morbid curiosity, 90% of the tweets seem to be coming from black teens and twenty-somethings.

And this is why I am happy that I have yet to log on/into Twitter.
Yeah, it really bums me out how many trending hashtags are vapid, mean-spirited shit like this. But then, that also causes it to be just that much sweeter when a fun hashtag like #BadWritingTips or #LessViolentFilms starts trending. Maybe it all balances out.
