If you’re reading this website, odds are that you like Breaking Bad. And if you’re reading this website, odds are that you like The Wire. Given these two things, odds are you will like this mashup, wherein a YouTuber has taken the theme songs from the five season of The Wire and made alternative opening credits sequences for the five seasons of Breaking Bad. Enjoy!

Nailed it. I was expecting this to be half-assed. Totally has the style down.
Same here. Damn impressive.
Bravo! Bravo!
I just wrapped up my annual viewing of The Wire a week ago. Looks like I’m gonna need to enact an annual screening of Breaking Bad, too.
I’ve been thinking of re-watching both when football season is over. Definitely gonna do that.
Re-watching it, I thought I might have stumbled upon a major plot point for the end of season 5 and a quick Google search kind of confirmed it. Kind of pissed off with myself now.
Another issue that came up during the re-watch was the era the show is set in. It all started when someone pointed out the overabundance of plastic, clamshell phones. My natural reaction was, “they’re drug dealers and they’re using burners” but then it occurred to us that Marie and everyone else involved in the show were all using similar phones. Of course, that led us to the
..idea that since the show was conceived in in the mid-2000′s and is framed over a year, it’s probably set around that time. The style of Walt Jr’s “Save Walter White” website kind of supported that theory, until we noticed a few other discrepancies that placed it in 2010.
None of this detracts from the quality of the show, it’s more of an observation than anything. Any thoughts?
I started watching Breaking Bad a year ago and couldn’t make it past the first 5 or 6 episodes. Walter’s dry hacking cough, passive personality, and the relatively slow storyline made it drag on. Should I give it another shot? The praise it gets on this website is ridiculous.
Yes. If those were you major problems with the series, then by all means give it another shot. Those will be in the rear view mirror before you know it
alright then. I guess I know how I’m spending my winter break!
If petty shit like that put you off the series, you don’t deserve it, Definitively Do No Return to BB.
oh yes “Flatulencio”, you’re so menacing. my unworthy eyes shall avert immediately! that “petty shit” was what the series was initially entirely comprised of.
OH MY GOD YES!
I know I’m in the minority here but the theme song for the wire is terrible. Then when you think it doesnt get any worse they make a new version of it. Just awful.
Tom Waits is not for the meek-hearted.
You’re right, you are in the minority here.
Yes, which is why I said “I know I’m in the minority here”.
