We don't talk about Christian Bale as much as we should. As far as dramatic actors who kick ass with a terrifying intensity, he's been surpassed by Michael Fassbender and Ryan Gosling of late, and even in the last two Batman films, he was a mere afterthought, rightly so, to Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy.
But Bale, who turned 39 year, is awesome, and his filmography, everything from The Prestige to The Machinist to Howl's Moving Castle to American Psycho to Rescue Dawn, is largely stellar, with a few occasionally amusing hiccups, such as Captain Corelli's Mandolin (god that's fun to type), along the way. Plus, his on-screen mistakes, like Reign of Fire, are immediately forgotten because off-screen, he's a good guy who visits Aurora victims and leukemia patients. In honor of his birthday, let's take a look at some of the Internet's best tributes to Señor Bale.

Kermit Bale is fantastic, as was Bale Out, but Señor Bale is really the unsung hero of Bale memes.
Serious question, you guys:
If there’s ever a Beastmaster remake (and there will be, because I also wished for Cool Ranch Doritos Tacos and that came true today), do you think Christian Bale could pull off Dar?
I loved this. I absolutely loved this.
That graph tracing Bale’s body transformations really gets to me.
I always thought he was kind of a dick, no? Remember that recording on the set of Terminator where he ripped into a crew member for like ten minutes for distracting him or something?
That gaffer shouldn’t have been acting so fucking unprofessional.
Remember that time when Woody Harrelson tried to kill a reporter for being a zombie?
Seriously, if the worst anyone’s got on the guy is that he once shouted at somebody, he’s already ahead of 98 per cent of people in the real world.
No mention of his early work in Newsies, Swing Kids, and Little Women? A whole generation of teenage girls fell for him because of those movies.
No jum jum tribute?
Or my wonderful film Empire Of the Sun?
Best version of Treasure Island of all time.
Number 8…I shall now go dig up my Refused collection to soothe me at work
OH GOOD FOR YOU
