The Guy Who Allegedly Sent Ricin To President Obama Is An Elvis Impersonating Martial Artist, Naturally

Well, we officially have our frontrunner for 2013’s funniest attempted assassination of the President. Earlier today, it was revealed that a package containing Ricin was sent to President Obama, but was recovered because it’s 2013 and people didn’t even get away with sending poison in envelopes back in 2000 when it was cool to do.

Well this would-be assassin has been identified as Kevin Curtis from Mississippi and the state’s big paper The Clarion Ledger, dug up some info on him. And boy is it pure Internet bait. Here’s what we know:

— He posted this message on his Facebook page after the Boston Marathon bombing: “heart breaking. I have an 8 year old son with the smile of an angel. This world is not what it used to be and the hopes of all are not what they ‘USED’ to be. We have let God down. We removed prayer from schools in 62….we have staged wars simply for profits in oil and drugs….we have lied our way from the capitol to the pulpit. We the people should be ashamed. I weep for the future of our children. God bless,”

— According to the booking agency who uses Kevin for his impersonations, he has quite the impressive resume: Curtis has a three-octave range and is a seven-time World Finalist in Images of the King, an impersonation contest in Memphis. GigSalad.com also says Curtis holds a Guiness World Record “for creating the 1st brother Duo Tribute to Elvis Act in 2002.”

— And he doesn’t just do Elvis. Curtis is a savant, doling out killer impersonations of Prince, Johnny Cash, Michael Jackson and others. After some considerable digging, we found a few of his performances on Youtube and boy are they swell. Including an impersonation of Freddy freakin’ Fingers.
