Here I was thinking that building Dany’s dragons was the best possible use for Legos, when the real answer was right in front of us the entire time: you can’t spell “Lego” without “leg,” something Christina Stephens took to heart.
Christina Stephens, a clinical researcher and occupational therapist, lost her foot and lower leg after a crush injury. She recently impressed her Facebook and YouTube followers — she provides resources for fellow amputees online — with her homemade prosthetic leg built out of LEGO.
“Someone in my lab jokingly suggested I make a prosthetic leg out of Legos. Joke’s on you — I went home and did it. Please don’t do this yourself, I don’t want you to fall and get hurt!” Stephens wrote. (Via)
