Almost 40 Tons Of Beef Ribs Were Ruined In A California Highway Fire

TRAGEDY IN CALIFORNIA.

A semi-truck’s trailer containing 76,000 pounds of beef ribs caught fire Saturday night, causing westbound lanes of the 40 Freeway to be shut down for about two hours, authorities said. [SBSun]

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE RIBS. WERE THE RIBS OKAY?

Firefighters used about 6,500 gallons of water while fighting the fire, which was contained in an hour and fully extinguished two hours after fire personnel arrived, according to [Fire Department spokesman Al] Franco.

NOOOOOOOOOOO. ONE HOUR OF HIGH HEAT?! THEY PROBABLY BURNED. DID ANYONE EVEN TRY TO TURN THEM? AND ALL THAT WATER! OH GOD. OH NO.

Firefighters said it was a typical truck fire but it had a “wonderful BBQ beef rib odor to it,” according to Franco’s report.
