I’m not going to admit to being scared by this horror short from Swedish filmmaker David Sandberg. I’m also not going to admit that I walked around checking light bulbs in my house following my first viewing.
What I will admit is that Lights Out is a horror feature that is just as good as films like The Conjuring and Insidious, but with a much shorter running time. It’s also quite impressive considering how almost every aspiring filmmaker I’ve ever known has made a horror film of some sort and they’re usually sh*t.
My only disappointment is that the beast at the end didn’t turn out to be Old Gregg from The Mighty Boosh. All the fear would’ve washed away of course, but I would’ve been happier than I’ve been in a long time.
