Uproxx’s Joypocalypse Argues Pavement Is The Most Effortlessly Cool ’90s Indie Band

The past year in Pavement news has been surprisingly robust. Last December, Spiral Stairs said a new Pavement song was coming. This year, we got both the Pavements documentary and the Joe Keery-starring sorta-biopic Range Life. If you ask Uproxx's Steven Hyden, Slanted And Enchanted is a pioneering indie album, and he's not the only one with love for the band. In a new video, Uproxx's Joypocalypse explains why "out of the indie rock boom of the '90s, no band sounded quite as effortless as Pavement." https://www.instagram.com/p/DSGP1AVkuAr/ She says: "That effortless sound came from many stylistic and artistic choices. Their…

Steven Hyden’s Favorite Albums Of 2025

Before I share my list of favorite albums of 2025, I need to repeat my regular "year-end list" disclaimer. If you already know the drill, feel free to skip ahead. 1) Ranking albums is dumb... We all know this. Art isn't a competition. I can't really distinguish between my 13th favorite album and my 15th favorite. This is all talk. None of it really matters. 2) ...but it's kind of fun... Of course it is! Because it's about sharing music recommendations. And I do mean share -- make your own lists and show them to me, especially if you're the…

DJ Green Lantern Talks Reworking Nas And DJ Premier Classics On ‘Half-Man, Half Amazing’

When a DJ Green Lantern project drops, it still feels like an event. Not because the music industry demands it, not because an algorithm forces it, but because certain names carry a weight that cuts through every era. We call him the Evil Genius for a reason. Green helped define the early 2000s -- an architect of the mixtape golden age who amplified the voices of giants like Nas, Eminem, and Jadakiss, and brought a cinematic touch to DJing that influenced everyone who followed. I rang up Green this past Sunday afternoon to discuss his exclusive Apple DJ Mix, Half-Man,…

‘The Drama’: Everything To Know About Robert Pattinson And Zendaya’s New A24 Movie

Norwegian film director Kristoffer Borgli had his big breakout with 2023's Dream Scenario, a surreal film starring Nicolas Cage that was co-produced and distributed by A24. Now he's set to link up with them once again for The Drama. This time, he has a pair of stars leading the way in Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. As of now, though, there's a lot of mystery surrounding the film, even in light of the recently released teaser trailer. Ahead of the movie's release, keep reading for everything you need to know before it hits theaters. Plot An official logline reads, "A happily…

It’s ”Brat’ Summer Forever’ In The New Trailer For Charli XCX’s Movie ‘The Moment’

The logline of Charli XCX's upcoming movie The Moment reads, "A rising pop star navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut.” That pop star, it turns out, is Charli herself, as a teaser trailer shared last month indicated with its inclusion of real-world footage, like from an appearance on The Late Show. Now, today (December 11), we have our first non-teaser trailer. The trailer sees Charli addressing concerns from business types that Brat should continue on and on. She also has tough moments dealing with the pressure placed on her to be…

The 2025 Uproxx Home Gift Guide

The comforts of home used to be invisible. Now they’re part of the story we tell about ourselves — in mirror photos, in kitchen-table Zooms, in the background of every “woke up this way" or "I think I like this little life" photo dump. Your speakers, your bath setup, the chair you collapse into after a long day… all of it is part of your personal brand and the place you actually live your life. The vibe has to hit on both levels: it needs to look good on camera and feel good in your body. That’s why I love…

Clipse And Tyler, The Creator Team With Lyrical Lemonade (And A Creepy Animatronic Band) For The New ‘P.O.V.’ Video

Clipse's Let God Sort Em Out has been one of the year's biggest albums, not just in hip-hop, but across all genres. It's year-end list season and Pusha T and Malice's reunion hovers around the top of just about all of them. Perhaps as a victory lap, today (December 10), they shared a video for their Tyler, The Creator collaboration "P.O.V." It's a Lyrical Lemonade video, so there's a high degree of polish here as the trio rap the song while sitting around a table in an empty ballroom. Well, it's empty except for a creepy animatronic band on stage.…

Coldplay Is Bringing The ‘Music Of The Spheres’ Tour To Meta Horizon In Multiple Exciting Ways, Including A VR Concert

In case you missed it, Coldplay is a pretty big band. Earlier this year, their Music Of The Spheres tour broke Taylor Swift's record and became the most-attended concert tour ever, with 10.3 million tickets sold at the time. There's even more to come, too, as the band is set to extend the run into 2027. Before that, though, fans unable to go in person, or those who just want to relive the experience at home, will soon be able to do so, as Meta Horizon is set to introduce a trio of new immersive experiences based on the tour.…

The Spectacular First Trailer For James Cameron And Billie Eilish’s 3D Concert Film Has Arrived

Last month, Billie Eilish made a huge announcement, revealing that she and James Cameron made a 3D concert film. Eilish wrote at the time, "HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D) coming to theatres on march 20th 2026 !!!! this has been one of my favorite tours everrrrrr and being able to capture it and co-direct this film with @jamescameronofficial has truly been a dream come true. can't wait for you all to see it." Next year, though, she's ready to extend that run, as today (December 10), she announced new shows. Tickets go on sale starting with an artist presale on December 10 at 10 a.m. local time, and signing up for access is a bit unusual: Text the "❣️" emoji here. The general on-sale starts December 12 at 10 a.m. local time, here. In a recent interview, PinkPantheress discussed her mindset behind playing shows, saying: "I've had to basically go against my nature and just jump…

Officially Ice Picks His 20 Favorite Max B Songs

There's a certain confidence that comes with being early on a cultural icon, and Officially Ice of The Joe Budden Podcast has championed Max B for many years. When Ice curates a list, you respect the authority. You don't debate it: you salute it. Forget the diss records and internet nostalgia -- these are the joints Funkmaster Flex, or any DJ with taste and a pulse, should have on standby the moment Bigaveli touches a stage. Did you boys not get the memo? Max B is home, and 2026 is lining up to be his true takeover year. Not a…

Don’t Expect The Oasis Tour To Continue In 2026, Liam Gallagher Says

Without releasing new music, Oasis was perhaps the biggest band of 2025 thanks to their long-awaited reunion tour. The run is over now, but Liam Gallagher has been hinting that there will be more shows. They probably won't happen in 2026, though. On X recently, one fan implored Gallagher to "announce the 2026 dates mate," to which he responded, "We’re not doing anything in 2026 sorry." He told another user, "Nothing going on next year except the WC," referring to the World Cup. A fan account tweeted about the odds that Oasis will perform at Knebworth next year and Gallagher…

Sabrina Carpenter Fell On A Cactus And Cried While Filming Her Chaotic ‘Manchild’ Video

The 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony isn't far away now, as the show is set for February 1 (live at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, broadcast via CBS and Paramount Plus). Sabrina Carpenter will be one of the biggest stars of the night, as she has a handful of nominations. Aside from her biggest ones (Record, Album, and Song Of The Year), she's also in contention for Best Music Video for the first time, for "Manchild." On Late Night With Seth Meyers yesterday (December 8), she discussed what that shoot was like. The most major mishap: falling on a cactus. She…

Mac DeMarco Quietly Dropped His Second Secret Album Of The Past Month

This past August, Mac DeMarco shared a new album, Guitar. It was his first release of the year but not his last. As Stereogum noted last month, on his European tour, DeMarco quietly distributed copies of a new project called Dog On The Rock; One fan reported that they found a CD taped to the barricade at a show in Dublin, Ireland. In an October interview with Paris' Arte Concert Festival, DeMarco talked about what he was calling "Mac's Secret Album," saying, "I actually do have a bunch of recordings that I made in between these two tours, and I…

Elliott Wilson Picks 21 Savage’s 21 Best Songs

The secret's out: 21 Savage has new music dropping this Friday, What Happened To The Streets? And it's pretty good (Larry David voice). Trust me. But at this point, why would anyone be surprised? 21 Savage isn't just an Atlanta rapper anymore. He's a living, breathing blueprint for survival, consistency and evolution in real time. From the cold menace of Savage Mode to the reflective scars of American Dream, 21's music hits like a left hook gut punch and lingers like a stern warning. You don't want these problems. His songs have matured, but his aim hasn't wavered -- turning…

The show goes down at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry on February 28, 2026, as part of the venue's 100th-anniversary celebration. Bruno Mars Sat On The No. 1 Hit ‘Die With A Smile’ For Years Before Presenting It To Lady Gaga

Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga's hit duet "Die With A Smile" came out back in the middle of 2024, but it's still dominating the world: Spotify revealed their year-end stats a couple days ago and the track was the most-played song globally in 2025. For years, though, the unfinished track just sat among other Mars drafts. In a Variety feature about the song published yesterday (December 4), James Fauntleroy, one of the song's co-writers, said: "He was such a genius for pulling that out of the back of his subconscious memory because of the timing of that movie, which is…

Ice Spice Switches Lanes With Tokischa In Their Spanglish-Rap ‘Thootie’ Video

Although Ice Spice is known primarily for her preference for sample-driven, upbeat drill tracks, her latest single makes her desire to expand her creative palette clear. "Thootie" finds Ice flexing her creative muscles, employing a hyperactive dembow beat and rapping in Spanish for the first time alongside fellow Dominicana Tokischa. Naturally, the video is a colorful affair, in which Ice, Toki, and their girls throw some culo at a backyard party while enjoying ice pops, Helado de Batata, while hyping each other up. The video was also shot in the Dominican Republic, heightening the authenticity. "This was a fun record…

Fred Again.. And Blanco Unite For The Uplifting New Single ‘Solo’

Fred Again.. is now well into his new series of USB drops, and the latest arrived today (December 5): "Solo," which is not a solo track but is an uplifting number featuring Blanco. On Instagram, Fred wrote of the song: "i really love how people all hear this song differently. like everyone ive played it to seems to find a sort of different feeling inside of it. blancos words are really powerful but then the chords sorta fight them with positivity and the drums and bass alone are sorta colder feeling - i love it when people take different things…

Young Thug Is Out For ‘Revenge’ In His New Video With Lil Gotit And 1300Saint

Young Thug isn't letting the lukewarm reception for his new album UY Scuti stop him from keeping up a steady stream of promotional videos for the project. He released the latest, "Revenge," today, a little over a month after the last video, "Blaming Jesus." This one's simple and straightforward: Thug, and his guest rappers Lil Gotit and 1300Saint, hanging out in the studio, presumably during the recording of the song. Over a hypnotic London on da Track beat (with co-production by BeatsByJuko and Kyuro), the three rappers take turns stepping to the mic, spitting verses packed with boasts. A standout…

GloRilla Is A Flashy Majorette In Her ‘Drumline’-Inspired ‘March’ Video

GloRilla is back, this time with a big band feel. The Memphis firestarter takes inspiration from a Black cinematic classic, Drumline in the video for her comeback track, "March." In it, we see Glo directing a marching band on the football field as the drum major, dancing with the majorettes, and watching a fistfight break out when things get disrespectful. "March" is GloRilla's first new single since wrapping up the rollout of her debut album, Glorious, with the "Raind Down On Me" video in June. She said in April that she was already working on her sophomore release, so it's…
