SNX: This Week’s Best Sneakers, Featuring The Jordan 5 Soft Pink & More
Welcome to SNX DLX, your weekly roundup of the best sneakers to hit the internet. The fall sneaker season continues to surprise us! Autumn is usually when sneaker brands start losing steam, dropping releases that feel like an afterthought in anticipation of the winter sales, but this year we’re seeing brands buck that trend. And hey, who are we to complain? If the big brands want to have an unexpected second wind and (hopefully) save what has been a pretty uneventful sneaker year so far, we’re inclined to let them. But like most weeks this year, we’re really only seeing…
Level Up: How To Incorporate Whiskey In Your Game Day Plans
Leveling up live sports with a good drink is as American as apple pie. I'm not talking about taking shots, sneaking a nip into the ballpark, or forcing your friends to finish the peach Schnapps you have sitting in your pantry for some reason (seriously, what is the reason?) There's a way to take your game day experience to the next level by incorporating whiskey in a way that's smoother than Saquon Barkley slipping a tackle. I'm talking about the perfect whiskey drinks. Whether you're in the arena, at home, or in a bar, I'm going to break down the…
The Weeknd Is An Ominous Entity In The Psychedelic ‘Big Sleep’ Video
I don't know if The Weeknd's "Big Sleep" video is specifically inspired by Rick & Morty, but given his propensity for guest-starring on animated shows like The Simpsons, Robot Chicken, and American Dad, it doesn't seem all that far-fetched. After all, the concept is scarily similar to that of the fan-favorite season two Rick & Morty episode, "Get Schwifty." In that now-decade-old story (what is time, anyway?), the Cromulons -- giant, musical reality show-loving, disembodied heads -- appear over the Earth, demanding the people of our puny planet to "show me what you got." In "Big Sleep," the giant disembodied…
‘Five Nights At Freddy’s 2’: Everything To Know About The Scary Video Game Adaptation Sequel
Film adaptations of video games can be hit or miss, but the Five Nights At Freddy's movie from 2023 was a massive financial success, earning just under $300 million against a budget of a mere $20 million. Well, there's more source material with the game series and money truly does talk, so a sequel is on its way. Josh Hutcherson, Matthew Lillard, and others are back, reprising their roles from the first film, while Seinfeld and Jurassic Park icon Wayne Knight is among the additions to the cast this time around. Ahead of the movie's release, keep reading for everything…
Khalid Issues Interactive Come-Ons In His VR-Enabled ‘Nah’ Video
Remember when we all thought VR was going to be way bigger than it actually turned out to be? Well, Khalid's here to remind us of at least some of the possibilities of the tech with the video for "Nah," from his new album After The Sun Goes Down. The video is fairly straightforward, with scenes of Khalid singing the groovy single outside a nightclub and into a phone handset (with a cord and all! Y2K is back, baby!). But if you have a VR-enabled headset, you can look around (or manually pan on the YouTube clip above), to see…
Fred Again.. Continues His New ‘USB’ Rollout By Teaming With Danny Brown, Beam, And Parisi On ‘OGdub’
Fred Again.. recently announced that he's once again adding to his ever-expanding USB project. He announced it with a giant banner that read, "USB002, 10 weeks, 10 songs, 10 cities," and he also captioned his social media post, "this is us for the next 77 days." The new songs have started to come out. Last week, he partnered with Amyl And The Sniffers on "You're A Star." This week's dispatch is out today (October 10) and this time, he partners with Danny Brown, Beam, and Parisi on "OGdub." Fred has teased some of the new songs during live appearances, such…
Chance The Rapper Calmly Cruises In His ‘Ride Remix’ Video Featuring Chicago Legends Do Or Die And Twista
Chance The Rapper's comeback continues with co-signs from some of his hometown's heroes. "Ride Remix," the latest single from The Rapper's new album, Star Line, features Do Or Die and Twista, without whom the Windy City's entire rap subculture might not exist. And in old-school Chicago rap tradition, the song is built around a slinky snare rattle with lots of swing, a slippery G-funk lead synth, and a smooth R&B sample (One Way's "Don't Stop [Ever Loving Me]" from 1984). Of course, it wouldn't be a Do Or Die, Twista collab without double-time rhymes from the guest rappers (Do Or…
Alemeda And Doechii Threaten To ‘Beat A B!tch Up’ In Their Punky New Collaboration
Top Dawg Entertainment may well have had a reputation as one of the foremost labels in rap music for the past decade, but that doesn't mean rap is all they do. The label is also home to Alemeda, an unapologetic alt-rocker who is unafraid to fly in the face of the "Black girls don't do guitar music" stereotype. She's got a new EP on the way, and today, she released a video for its defiant single, "Beat A B!tch Up," featuring labelmate Doechii. It's a smart collab between two genre-bending Black women who refuse to shrink down to fit the…
Clipse Teams Up With Mobb Deep On The Queens Rap Icons’ New Album, ‘Infinite’
Debates in hip-hop are common; even those not crammed into the dark corners of rap-focused internet discussion forums know about the "top five" debate. Another common, but more granular, version of that debate often comes in the form of "best rap duos." The names in that one often boil down to some combination of Clipse, Mobb Deep, and Outkast. Well, two of the above finally join forces on Mobb Deep's new album, Infinite. Part of Mass Appeal's ongoing Legend Has It... series, Infinite sees the late Prodigy posthumously reunited with his partner-in-rhyme Havoc courtesy of frequent collaborator The Alchemist, who…
The No Doubt Reunion Continues With A Vegas Sphere Residency, Their First Run Of Shows In Over A Decade
There's been a No Doubt renaissance lately, most notably with the band performing at Coachella in 2024. Will the band release new music? Maybe! There is one thing that's certain, though: It was announced today (October 10) that next year, the band will play a residency at Sphere in Las Vegas. The six performances are going down in May 2026. This marks the band's first extended run of non-one-off shows since the Seven Night Stand in Los Angeles in 2012. For tickets, there's an artist pre-sale starting October 15 at 10 a.m. PT, and those interested must sign up by…
Haim Announce A Deluxe Edition Of ‘I Quit’ And Release A New Bon Iver Collab, ‘Tie You Down’
It's been a good week for Bon Iver fans. A few days ago, he dropped a "Day One" video featuring everybody from Cristin Milioti to Jacob Elordi to St. Vincent’s Annie Clark. Now, he's on a new Haim song. Today (October 10), Haim announced a new deluxe edition of I Quit, the album they released in June. Included are the original 15 tracks, as well as three new songs, one of which is the Bon Iver collaboration "Tie You Down." The song is a reunion, as Danielle Haim featured on "If Only I Could Wait," from Bon Iver's album SABLE,…
Jisoo And Zayn Dive Into New Love On The Fresh Collaboration ‘Eyes Closed’
Jisoo has kept busy in 2025. Earlier this year, she released Amortage, her debut solo EP. She's also in the middle of a tour with Blackpink. Zayn, meanwhile, is coming off a 2024 that saw him release the album Room Under The Stairs and tour in support of it, a run that extended into this year and wrapped up a few months ago. Now, Jisoo and Zayn's paths have crossed, as today (October 10), they dropped a collaborative new single, "Eyes Closed," and a video. The futuristic visual sees the pair on a spaceship, en route to an extraterrestrial destination.…
Indiecast On The Taylor Swift Backlash
Steven and Ian begin by discussing Ian's weekend plans to attend an emo festival in Las Vegas, and the awkwardness of talking about music with friends and family in real life. Then they discuss the reaction to the new Taylor Swift album, The Life Of A Showgirl, which has sparked a critical backlash and millions more record sales. After that, they touch base on the Fantasy Albums Draft, including Steven's most questionable pick, and then do a "yay or nay" on country bad boy Zach Bryan. In the mailbag, they discuss the state of live music on college campuses, and…
These Are The Must-See Acts For Austin City Limits’ Second Weekend
Now that the rousing, first weekend of Austin City Limits is in the book…catch your breath and get ready to head back down to Zilker Park for the festival’s second weekend. As outlined in our first weekend preview, what separates Austin City Limits from other two-weekend festivals is its subtle, tactical tweaks to the lineups, making them slightly different. The first weekend had Maren Morris, Modest Mouse, Briscoe, and more. The second weekend, in addition to the Red River Rivalry (University of Texas vs. University of Oklahoma football game) that will undoubtedly be an early Saturday focus, features a slightly…
Drake’s Lawsuit Against Universal Over Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ Has Been Thrown Out By A Judge
Drake had a horrible 2024 and an pretty bad early 2025 thanks to Kendrick Lamar, and today, he's suffered one final indignity -- albeit, a largely self-inflicted one. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a judge has thrown out Drake's defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group for promoting Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us," saying, "A reasonable listener could not have concluded that ‘Not Like Us’ was conveying objective facts about Drake." U.S. District Judge Jeannette Vargas ruled on the grounds that Kendrick's rhymes calling Drake a "certified pedophile" came in the context of a rap battle, and as such were subject…
Labrinth Follows His ‘Prelude’ EP With The Kaleidoscopic ‘Orchestra’ Video
Labrinth isn't resting on his laurels after releasing the Prelude EP a few weeks ago. He's already back with a new single, "Orchestra," and its kaleidoscopic music video. The video, directed by Reinaldo Irizarry, is actually fairly simple, featuring Labrinth wandering the halls of a luxurious hotel, dancing and singing his way through the operatic production. The twist is that it's shot on a phone camera, mirrored in the middle, creating a disconcerting effect meant to reflect -- ahem -- the theme of the song. Labrinth described the song as being about his mental struggles, writing: "I’m f*cking nuts and…
Kelly Lee Owens Unveils ‘Ascend’ From ‘Kelly,’ A New EP ‘Designed For The Clubs’
Kelly Lee Owens is among the best that modern dance/electronic music has to offer, so it's great news when her name pops up. It has again today as Owens announces a new project, an EP titled simply Kelly. She also shared the single "Ascend," a kinetic banger full of thrilling crescendos and satisfying drops. In a statement, Owens says the project was made with movement in mind: "This EP is about embodying sound and those collective, physical experiences we only really have in clubs or at music events. Sonically, it's very visceral. I've been drawn to sounds that sit on…
‘The Moment’: Everything To Know About Charli XCX’s New A24 Movie
Per IMDb, Charli XCX has five upcoming movies, which is a lot for somebody who's primarily known for culture-defining music. That doesn't even count the films she's already been in this year, Erupcja and Sacrifice. She's a real cinephile, and in recent times, she's been making a greater push to be the one on the screen. On that front, her next big project is The Moment, a new movie from A24. Ahead of the movie's release, keep reading for everything you need to know before it hits theaters. Plot A press release notes of the film, "A rising pop star…
Here Are Some Exclusive New Images From ‘Good Fortune,’ Aziz Ansari’s Upcoming Movie With Keanu Reeves
Aziz Ansari is approaching a major career milestone: Good Fortune, his feature-length directorial debut, is coming out this month. He has a strong cast behind him, as beyond himself, the film also stars Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh, and Keanu Reeves. Per an official synopsis, "In Good Fortune, a well-meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Aziz Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Seth Rogen).” Now, ahead of the movie's premiere, Uproxx is sharing some exclusive images from the film, below. Meanwhile, Ansari previously said of working with…
‘The Vince Staples Show’s Frenetic Season 2 Trailer Promises More Surreal Shenanigans
Get ready for more surreal shenanigans from Long Beach rapper Vince Staples, as the long-awaited second season of his Netflix dramedy The Vince Staples Show is coming on November 6. The streamer shared the season 2 trailer today, which promises violent action, awkward comedy, and a harrowed Vince struggling to work through his traumatic past. To call Vince's 2025 "quiet" would be something of an understatement. After his flurry of activity for the past couple of years, including albums like last year's Dark Times and 2022's Ramona Park Broke My Heart, acting roles in White Men Can't Jump and the…
Liam Gallagher Seemingly Indicates Oasis’ Reunion Tour Is Not Even Halfway Done Yet
The Oasis Live '25 tour ended its UK run in August (though two more UK shows followed in September) and its North American run in September. Next up is a set of Asian, Australian, and South American shows, which kick off later this month. But, it seems the tour could continue even beyond these dates. On X/Twitter today (October 9), an Oasis fan asked, "How the f*ck did The Hindu Times not make it on the setlist?" Liam Gallagher, ever active on the platform, responded, "Chill Winston it’s not even HALF TIME yet it’s a tour of 2 half’s," apparently…
Denzel Curry Fulfills Fans’ Dreams With A Rowdy ‘Sound Check’ Challenge
This week's Sound Check features the most-requested artist since the show's inception: South Florida goth-trap rapper Denzel Curry. Now, if you've been following Denzel the way we have, you know that he's a versatile rapper who can switch styles with the quickness, from the soulful boom-bap of "Walkin'" to the spooky fight music of "Hot Ones." Naturally, that makes him the perfect guest for Sound Check, where he gets to show off his influences and debate which ones he likes best -- and the fans know it. As our host Jeremy Hecht points out, one YouTube user in particular, G_Future,…
Halle Bailey Aims To Explore ‘Love? Or Something Like It’ On Her Debut Album
Halle Bailey has been in the music business since she was a pre-teen, experiencing tremendous success as part of the duo Chloe X Halle with her sister, so it feels odd to point that she still hasn't actually released a debut album of her own yet. But that will soon change with the release of Love? Or Something Like It, her solo debut, which she announced today. Alongside a moody trailer for the album previewing some of its music, Bailey called the project on Instagram, "A story of first love, heartbreak, and everything that comes after. Out 10/24. This one…
Kendrick Lamar Is Hip-Hop’s ‘North Star,’ According To Nas
Nearly 20 years ago now, Nas sparked controversy with his declaration that Hip-Hop Is Dead. Fortunately, his prediction turned out to be wrong, but when asked to reflect on the moment by Rolling Stone in a new interview about the Mass Appeal collaboration with Marvel Comics, his perspective was much brighter -- something that could be attributed to the presence of visionary Pulitzer Prize-winning Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar. After Rolling Stone's Andre Gee (who we miss a lot here at Uproxx) compared the title track "Hip-Hop Is Dead" with Kendrick Lamar's 2024 song "Watch the Party Die," Nas called Kendrick…
Bad Bunny’s Sports Exploits Continue As He Catches A Foul Ball At A Yankees Game
Bad Bunny is slowly but surely collecting sports-related accomplishments like Infinity Stones. He started in 2021, when he competed at Wrestlemania, following up a couple of years later with another WWE premium event, Backlash, in his native Puerto Rico. That one left him with some pretty bad injuries, so for now, it looks like he's sticking to the sidelines -- and the stage. A few weeks ago, he was announced as the performer for the next Super Bowl Halftime Show, and now, he's added unofficial infielder to his growing resume, collecting a fly foul ball at the Yankees playoff game…
