As a member of The Beatles, and as a solo performer, John Lennon is one of the most influential musical artists of all-time. He would have turned 75 this year, if he were still alive, and in order to celebrate this milestone birthday, there is going to be a massive tribute concert featuring a variety of big time musicians paying their respects to the legendary Beatle.
The event is called Imagine: John Lennon 75th Birthday Concert, and it will take place December 5 at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden. The event will then be shown on AMC on December 19 at 9 p.m., so if you can’t make it to the concert, you can still get a chance to see a laundry list of musicians take part.
Who are some of these musicians, you ask? We’re talking folks like Sheryl Crow, Brandon Flowers from The Killers, Peter Frampton, Kris Kristofferson, Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine, Willie Nelson, The Roots, and Steven Tyler. Also, some guy from Train! They also say that other artists who have not yet been named will partake. Overall, it’s an all-star event, plus a guy from Train.

“It’s beautiful to see so many wonderful and talented musicians come together for this special show to celebrate John’s birthday. John’s art continues to give hope, light and happiness to generations of people everywhere. His belief that each of us can change the world continues to inspire the human race to believe in themselves, and his influence is everlasting in everyone’s hearts as we all share in the possibilities and power of music.”
It seems like a massive, cool event, particularly if you are a fan of John Lennon. You’ll probably get to hear the song “Imagine.” That seems like a pretty safe bet.
