Sid Vicious Thinks Business Must Be Bad If Kevin Owens Is A WWE World Champion

WWE made a lot of fans very happy last year when they finally elevated longtime cult favorite Kevin Owens to the level of world champion by bestowing him with the vacated Universal Championship. Owens has long had his detractors among the pro wrestling establishment, mostly because he doesn’t look like a pro wrestling world champ has typically looked. Most notably, Owens has a longstanding public feud with his former Ring of Honor boss, Jim Cornette.

It looks like you can add another old-timer to the list of people who don’t think Owens is a worthy world title holder. Sid Vicious, also known as Sid Justice and Sycho Sid in WWE, spoke with Hannibal TV and was asked a fairly loaded question about how he feels about an “overweight guy in a T-shirt” becoming world champ. He just shook his head before answering.

“This is the thing … it reminds me of the time I left, when business was hot. I came back as Sycho Sid, and I was looking at people like Rex King and Steve Doll, and I’m going, ‘Hold on. I know these guys and they’re not money people. What’s going on?’ When I got there, I saw business was that bad. I hate sayin’ it, but I see people like Kevin Owens and this Yakamora guy, and these other people like this. When I see that, I’m going, ‘Business has gotta be bad, or they’re at a point where they don’t care.’ That’s all I know.”

Yakamora, Nakamura, let’s call the whole thing off. He had much nicer things to say about Roman Reigns, however. But still managed to get in another swipe at Owens while praising the Big Dog!

“I think he’s one of the better talents they’ve got. He looks credible, he looks good, [he’s] a good interview. And if we’re gonna compare him to anybody, let’s just compare him to the last guy you said, the fat guy in the T-shirt, Kevin Owens. There’s no comparison. I think he’s light years ahead of that guy.”

He also said he thinks Jinder Mahal is “doing a good job.” Sorry, Kevin, but it looks like Sycho Sid isn’t on your side. And he has half the brain that you do.
