While Robert Downey Jr. passed on Cowboys and Aliens to do Sherlock Holmes 2, it looks like he has nothing against Sci-Fi, as Deadline is reporting that he’s in talks to star in Alfonso Cuaron’s upcoming 3D film Gravity. The film would have Downey as the leader of an isolated space station who finds himself stranded with a female crewmember when the rest of the station’s crew is killed. (You know, that sounds a lot like a 60′s Playboy cartoon I once read.)
Supposedly, the film would be able to shoot in the summer, leaving time for Downey to shoot the Sherlock sequel in the fall. Which is fine with me – I can’t wait to get back to some good old Victorian Downey/Law homoerotic tension.
