Fernacular grew "tired of guys having no idea why girls find female superheroes' costumes kinda sexist", so she made the series of drawings below to achieve three main goals:
1) Make it so the first thing you think of when you look at them is sex, whether you want to or not. 2) make it so that any male human who looks at this feels really uncomfortable. 3) make it funny, because, well, it’s kinda hilarious really. [Fernacular]
While pointing out that female superheroes often wear impractical, stripper-ish costumes is nothing new -- see the banner picture, Kate Beaton's Strong Female Characters, and the alternate Avengers poster for more examples -- I like her execution.

I don’t see how these are any less practical than their regular outfits. Batman and Superman both fight crime wearing their underwear on the outside of their pants and fuck-me boots. Like we’re not already noticing their codpieces? That’s the first thing I look at. But then, I can appreciate a nice codpiece.

Has it occured to anyone that perhaps female superheroes are often times held to an unrealistic standard of female form while male superheroes are held to an unrealistic standard of male form?

There was an issue in Nightwing where he was drugged and raped by Tarantula…it’s not something that gets brought up a whole lot when the refrigerator chicks are complaining about how horrible women are treated in comics :/

Actually, a female Captain already exists. Her name is American Dream, she covers up just as much as the Cap. does
Maybe the real reason the costumes are like that is because 99 percent of comic book buyers are male.
