Seriously, DC?
The person with an apparently broken spine above is supposed to be Catwoman. This is Guillem March's cover for Catwoman #0, which will tell "the secret origin of Selina Kyle". Or, as DCWKA puts it, "the origin of Catwoman’s @ss and how it got so round and prominent and why her right buttock is so much bigger!"
Anatomically-challenged drawings of female characters with broken spines to show T&A simultaneously isn't a new thing in comics -- see this gallery, Kate Beaton's Strong Female Characters, and the alternate Avengers poster for more examples -- but it's particularly sad when it's done to a major character on the cover of a zero issue. Really, DC? That's the cover you're going with? Human women don't bend that way. Not even cat women. My cat doesn't even bend that way, and Lord knows she tries, the little hussy.
Below you'll find over a dozen parodies of this monumentally stupid cover. Because when major comics publisher cares this little about their many female readers (and male readers who aren't troglodytes), we've got to point and laugh.

Josh Rodgers of Mushface Comics draws the next logical step. Are we sure this isn't just the first draft of the actual cover? [via]
"Figure 1 is the issue cover. Figure 2 is the closest I could get to duplicating it in Daz3D without breaking the model’s back. Figure 3 is the same exact pose as Figure 2, just from the side. You’ll notice some of the differences: The pose, specifically the relationship of butt to bosom. The right arm placement, which is impossible without dislocating her shoulder. Her head placement can’t be duplicated. If you look at Figure 3, you’l notice that the curve of her back is already incredibly pronounced, even in this truncated pose." -- Giaaeron

“Women? Read comics? HAHAHAHAHAHA.”
They should just look at the pictures, like us.
if people didn’t buy it, they wouldn’t do it. same with Before Watchmen and everything else. if this kind of stuff annoys you, vote with your wallet and be angry with the fans who continue to buy this stuff, not the manufacturer who’s meeting their demands.
that being said, the most offensive thing on this cover to me are the words “Judd Winick”. art be damned, i bet the story’s worse.
Creators are never responsible for their content, only the consumers are?
Actually the Catwoman story has been pretty engaging so far. Last I checked it was one of there better sellers.
Even worse, I heard that Robin is a girl now!
You win the “Arrested Development Memorial Award” for continuity joke of the month.
Nerd Rage™!!!!!!!!!!
“Strong Female Characters” is one of the all-time greatest things on the internet. It’s so useful.
“Strong” like She-Hulk lifting a truck?
Or “Strong” like She-Hulk banging the Juggernaut and Tony Stark in consecutive appointments?
Hey! She didn’t bang Juggernaut! It was an Alpha duplicate from an alternate dimension!
This isn’t even *good* broken-spine silliness. It makes no visual sense — unless you squint and try to figure it out she’s just sort of looks like a blob. Her ass is giant and her boobs are flat. The “ripping page” effect in the background looks incredibly goofy.
DC — sometimes when an artist hands in something that’s clearly garbage to you, it’s okay to tell them to go redraw it.
SO WAIT?? GAY DUDES KISSING IS OK? BUT TITTIES AND ASS IS OUT? IM GLAD I DONT COLLECT COMICS ANYMORE….
Nobody tell this dude about DC’s plans to replace Catwoman’s boobs and ass with two gay dudes just constantly kissing it up.
NOBODY TALK TO THIS GUY. O WAIT TOO LATE.
Oh my God, Becky, look at her butt.
This is what they’re trying to replace my Batwoman subscription with? Poorly drawn T&A? If they’re going to do a series of soft nerd porn, they could at least have well drawn T&A. Better boobies might distract from the awful writing.
Strange. All of his other covers looked decent. This is unfortunate and, I’m sure, embarrassing for the artist.
My mom had to threaten to stop playing Pet Society with me if I didn’t stop watching the bouncing Catowman ball. My life is delicate right now.
Hey, remember when the internet fittingly lambasted an impossibly contorted Spiderman illustration?
Me either.
Hey remember when all those artists contorted spiderman unrealistically to reduce him to a weird, confusing jumble of “sexiness”?
Me either.
Is there angle from which Catwoman—a character clad in a skintight black leather/vinyl catsuit—is not going to look sexy?
Perhaps they should have made her flat chested with no ass—except then the complaint would be that she looked like a runway model, and not like “real women, who have curves.”
Hello to the new 52. Same as the old 52.
I won’t be fooled again!
You could probably make a cat look like that with a trip to the taxidermist.
this is a good picture to add [media.tumblr.com] (from [dcwomenkickingass.tumblr.com])
Hahaha that’s amazing.
He got her tits and ass perfectly presented in the same image. Well done sir, well done.
Issue #1, not #0.
Eh, still better than Howard Chaykin’s work.
Looks Guillem March just recycled the pose from a pinup drawing he made for Wonder Woman #600 in 2010:

(Scoll about half way down)
Just an observation. The drawing that people are complaining about looks professionally done; but the pictures in the links (all of them) look like this took about 15 seconds to draw. Is sarcasm a reason for bad art now?
yeah, because every thing about cat woman’s ability to be a successfully active fine arts thief for x amount of years is totally plausible, but when the artist start hinting that she may have added contortionist to that talent list, then i say nay! Anatomic incorrectness is a cornerstone of comic books, come on, hulk, wtf. I read comics for the writing, i’ve never been seduced by a cover, I’m more insulted by the fact that, even though new 52 batman has only been active five years, all the robins are still hear.
I just want to point out, she’s CATwoman. She’s SUPPOSED to be ridiculously limber and twisty to give her FELINE characteristics. What does it matter what is or isn’t physically possible? Is it realistically possible that Superman is faster than a speedy bullet? Or that Batman has a car that ejects him via motorcycle when it explodes? Why aren’t people trying to disprove the realism of his ridiculous batmobile? It’s fiction, people. I would ALSO like to point out that people in the world ARE this limber. Personally, as a dancer and somebody who is double jointed in her shoulders, I could achieve this pose. Unfortunately, I can’t suspender myself in midair like that. Now everyone get over it.
im just in it for the boobies.i love boobs.i wanna see boobs, butt, vagina, and tits.i will make out with a boob
Really, ur complaining about what? The fact that this comic book cover isn’t realistic enough is the most ironic thing I’ve heard in a while. n thats saying a lot since im on this site. Maybe I don’t get it but isn’t that the whole idea. That these caracters can do impossible things. Shes a cat woman. so shes super flexible. I dont want to offend you but cmon.
