Xkcd's 'Every Major's Terrible' Is Now A Real Song

We’re fans of Randall Munroe’s webcomic xkcd from way back, so we’re happy to see one of his comics inspiring a song. Back in May he posted a comic called “Every Major’s Terrible“, which covered the awfulness of many fields of study to the tune of “I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General” from Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance. More things should be set to that tune. Lessons at college would have been much more fun if they had been set to it, although my major would have still been terrible. Like all of them.

Ben Miller of performed the lyrics from the xkcd comic with his own musical accompaniment. As Mental Floss points out, there have actually been several musical adaptations of this xkcd comic since it was published, but Ben Miller’s is by far my favorite.
