BioShock Infinite — which looks pretty awesome — finally has the first new trailer in six months available below. This trailer, titled “The Beast of America”, comes after a long media blackout announced by Irrational Games creative director Ken Levine earlier this year. The reason for the blackout was to focus on finishing the game, which was supposed to be out this month but will instead release on February 26th, 2013. Missing out on those holiday sales is a major loss, as was Irrational Games’ losing of at least seven key employees out of 200 employees.
The new Bioshock Infinite trailer is set to “Beast” by Nico Vega (awesome choice) and shows only in-game footage of scenes requested by fans during a Facebook promotion. So you’re telling me those fans didn’t request more of the George Washington robot? Internet, it’s like I don’t even know you anymore.

god I can’t wait for this game. looks friggin’ brilliant.
It really does. As long as they don’t try to shoehorn terrible multiplayer it should be top notch.
one of the things I loved the MOST about the first Bioshock was that it was a straight-up 1st person campaign. it was a 1st person *experience.* like playing through a movie. much like Metro 2033 (VERY underrated) or Singularity (also very underrated). in the days where there’s guaranteed to always be someone out there better than you because they make it their life’s mission (and most of the time this person will be a decade younger than you), multiplayer is becoming less and less fun to me.
Multiplayer is fun for some games that essentially require it ala Borderlands. A movie that is as cinematic, as you stated, should not be turned into that just for the sake of it. I’ve heard great things about Metro series but I have yet to find a copy cheap enough for my liking. For a game that bombed and is as old as it is the used copies are still around $30.
actually it didn’t bomb at all. it wasn’t meant to be a blockbuster, Call Of Duty-style. it actually performed quite well for them considering they didn’t put that much money behind it; that’s one of the main reasons they green lit Metro: Last Light (which looks friggin’ awesome, if you haven’t seen it yet). the game found its audience for sure.
In-Engine footage… Sure it looks nice, but I doubt it will actually have the real urgency and cinematic feel in-game.
