One of the most divisive aspects of old SimCity games were the disasters. Do you play with disasters on, or disasters off? Does a city built with disasters off even really count? I was usually a wuss and switched ‘em off, but I certainly had nothing against loading my brother or friend’s city and unleashing a few disasters on their hard work.
Well, there’s a new SimCity coming early next years and disasters are back. Hit the hump for a trailer. Will you be brave enough to turn disasters on?
Hey, where’s the spider-robot monster? Come on Maxis, I know we’ll probably never get Bowser again, but at least give us the spider-robot.

I spent hours and hours of my life crafting the perfect city in SimCity 2000. The trick was to make grids 7×7 with roads, then fill them with different colors. Put green with green, yellow with yellow and blue with blue. Keep up with the cops and fire department and always say yes to the Military. You couldn’t lose, regardless of the disaster.
I had entirely too much fun sending my ants to war with that stupid immortal spider in Sim-Ant, Giant Spider-Bot would be the proverbial titties. And John Peters agrees with me dammit.
