BRUCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
ANYWAY. The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Kanye West, Chris Martin (with Michael Stipe), Roger Waters, and Bon Jovi, among others, all played sets during last night’s 12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief charity gig at Madison Square Garden, but the performance that everyone’s talking about this morning is: Sir Paul McCartney with Nirvana. They debuted a new (decent) song for the occasion, “Cut Me Some Slack,” which will soon appear on Sound City: Real to Reel, the soundtrack to Dave Grohl’s documentary, Sound City. Check it out below, as well as a few other videos from the concert.
Paul McCartney & Nirvana by Embrulha
And a few other performances, beginning with Chris Martin and Michael Stipe.
Roger Waters and Eddie Vedder
Billy Joel
The Rolling Stones
The Who (sorry for the terrible quality)
Adam Sandler

The Who needs to go away.
blasphemy!
The Who did go away. Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend, however, keep at it for whatever reason.
No mention of Kanye? I think THAT is what everyone’s talking about. The guy totally bombed. I mean good for him he performed for free to help with charity but what a disaster on stage
I thought he did fine. I was a little confused as to why he only played, like, 30 seconds of every song before moving on to the next one (and why he was wearing a leather kilt), but he brought his usual energy and did a decent job of performing his material. I don’t see what was so bad about it.
I couldn’t find any decent embeddable clips. He was…fine, I guess.
The opening and the outfit were weird, but the rest was fine.
It was just the wrong crowd. A lot of people who only knew him as “the scary Negro who assaulted Taylor Swift.”
Yeah, who wears pants AND a skirt? Pick a lane, buddy.
the opening song choices were weak, and i think he was kind of timid knowing that he almost had no business being there in the ocntext of the rest of the lineup.
but once he got going, he sounded great.
was definitely a fan of rifling off quick songs, because it meant hearing more. plus he’s kind of handcuffed by all the features.
Is anyone going to do a comedic look at the performances on this site?
Paul McCartney not singing “Hey Jude” at the last night seemed like a missed opportunity.
Happy Hanukkah!
Aside from “Cut Me Some Slack” being pretty damn awesome, consider this picture of The Beastie Boys playing dreidel a Hanukkah gift
Man Dave and the gang haven’t lost a step
Vedder and Waters sound good together even if if Waters looks rough
The whole thing felt like a really really long Super Bowl halftime show I
Minus *NSYNC, mercifully.
no, it was the best awards show of all time!
If it was really Nirvana, Dave would be in the background not saying a word….now that’s nirvana
Except not really, because he always did backing vocals live for Nirvana.
OMG! Eddy Vedder has something a message on his thumb! Has this been noted, debated? Is a class being offered?
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!
It’s probably his grocery list
What I really meant to ask is, when will these effin wells run dry? If I wanted to see geezers shuffle about and howl, I’d volunteer at an old age home.
Nirvana and Paul McCartney? More, please.
It seemed a lot more natural than you would have imagined, right?
It was great to see Billy Joel again, even if he looks like Mike from “Breaking Bad” has a fat uncle.
