Well, as if I needed further proof that I’m an evil son of a bitch, I laughed my ass off at this clip from last night’s episode of “CSI” in which Justin Bieber’s character is shot and killed (video below). Not like, “Haha, he got shot!” I mean pure, villainous cackling from the pit of my jet-black soul. “MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Yes! YES! Die, Bieber! Die and take your fans with you to hell! AHAHAHAHA!”
Seriously, I have problems.

CSI, high quality as usual.
I actually couldn’t see the gun in his right hand at the 11-second mark, but he’s definitely not holding a gun in his left, so the criticism still stands. But what I find especially unbelievable is that someone who looks like Justin Bieber has enough pistol training to hit a target from 10-15 yards while shooting one-handed. But there I go again, applying actual knowledge of weapons systems to TV shows. Next thing you know I’ll be calling John Woo-directed gun battles unrealistic.

I actually consulted with one of my military friends about how accurate a sniper can be with a handgun after the last episode of Justified.
I haven’t watched this week’s Justified yet, but to get a good idea about the answer to your question, catch an episode or two of Top Shot on the History Channel. It’s Survivor meets guns and is hosted by Survivor alum Colby Donaldson. Military trained snipers, law enforcement instructors, National shooting champions, and regular Joes all compete using various types of weapons in little competitions. The pistol challenges are quite revealing. Add a little time and stress into the equation and its amazing how inaccurate they all get.

squabbler, the question wasn’t really worth asking. When you see the episode of Justified, you’ll see the shot was within 10 feet. Any federal agent issued a sidearm should have been able to make it easy. Hell, even an IRS agent.

The reason I asked is because from the dialogue of the scene, it sounded like the sniper was more capable of making the shot BECAUSE he was formerly a sniper. I was just curious about how accurate a sniper can be with a handgun.
