Even though "Boardwalk Empire" received countless accolades and critical acclaim over the last year, I sometimes forget how much I enjoyed the HBO drama's first season. It was excellent television that I took for granted -- an essential part of my Sunday viewing, yes, but not a show I particularly missed after the season ended.
However, my appreciation of Season 2 begins right f'n now with the new teaser (next page), featuring a heavily armed KKK, a justifiably unhappy Chalky White (Michael K. Williams), nighttime standoffs, Al Capone, a cheerful but menacing butcher, half-faced sniper Richard Harrow (Jack Huston), and Steve Buscemi's Nucky Thompson saying, "I will ruin you. All of you." There's no sight of my beloved Paz de la Huerta, but we do get a glimpse of the deranged Agent Van Alden (Michael Shannon) waiting in what looks like a maternity ward, penance for the Season 1 hate sex that ended with him crying in the fetal position. Hey, we've all been there.

Hey HBO, nice job as making us think that this season is gonna be pack with action!
Which of course, if you’ve seen the first, you it’s not happening.
(Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed season one, but it’s just one of those type of trailer that makes something seems what it’s not, and they piss me off!)

Missing words or not, Jean-Ralphio’s right. The first season had an amazingly compelling trailer as well. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all fired up to watch S2, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a total slow burn again.
Much as I love Michael K Williams as Omar, as Chalky White the dude is waaaaaaay over the top. Every time he talks I think he’s about to start scatting. That said, fuuuuuck I can’t wait for this. The half-faced sniper is the best. I just hope they have an episode as good as last season’s The Drowning of the Jew.

I’m pretty sure that’s Paz at the end of the trailer wearing the feathered headband, looking like she’s either dancing with or choking the other girl. Maybe both!

I may have to rewatch the first season. Watching this trailer has reminded me that I don’t remember shit from it.
@Jean-Ralphio: Go watch Transformers or Conan the Barbarian or something if you want brainless endless amounts of action. Boardwalk Empire isn’t for the likes of riff-raff like you.
