Nick Offerman and Kerry Washington will announce the nominees for this year’s Emmy Awards on July 19th at 8:40 a.m. EST, according to Deadline. If the man who plays Ron Swanson doesn’t say his own name when revealing the contenders for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy, which last year included four “Modern Family” cast members, Kurt from “Glee,” and Ducky, I will book a flight to California, find every Academy of Television Arts & Sciences member who didn’t vote for Offerman, and make them funnel Swanson Family Mash Liquor, Joffrey-style, until they choke on their own ignorance. Then I will dance on their graves:

Ahem. I may have gotten carried away there. But still: Swanson 2012. For what it’s worth, here’s what I think the Best Supporting group should look like (with Louis C.K. and H. Jon Benjamin sharing Best Actor):
Nick Offerman, “Parks and Recreation”
Chris Pratt, “Parks and Recreation”
Rob McElhenney, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”
Adam Pally, “Happy Endings”
Max Greenfield, “New Girl”
Jim Rash, “Community”
God damn, it’s tough leaving off Matt Walsh, Donald Glover, Steve Little, and Jason Mantzoukas.

I guarantee that by letting him announce the nominees, which will include him, the Emmy people will pat themselves on their backs and get Rico Rodriguez’s trophy ready.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see the Emmys shaft Offerman. They had Joel McHale announce the Community-less nominees one year.
But if he doesn’t get the nod, fuck that, it’s too late. I better read about your murderous rampage no more than two days later. You promised, now keep your word.
the problem with Joshs list is it based on things like “actual humor” and “good tv” two things that the emmys will be far too busy giving ashton kutcher nominations and shotime not funny comedies nods for to give a fuck about.
Here’s what the actual nominations will be….
Ty Burrell, “Modern Family”
Jon Cryer, “Two and a Half Men”
Eric StoneStreet, “Modern Family”
Neil Patrick Harris, “How I Met Your Mother”
Ashton Kutcher, “Two and a Half Men”
And the world will die a little on the inside.
And since there needs to be a sixth, and I’m a dumbass, they’ll throw Max Greenfield in there, but he’ll lose to Jon Cryer
I assume you have Mac as the lone Sunny cast member there because you think Charlie should get a Best Actor nod?
i mean, sure, Mac got fat for the part. but charlie’s reaction to his first ever view of an ocean is priceless emmy gold.
I can’t get my hopes for Charlie receiving a nomination; it always hurts so much when his name isn’t announced.
Josh, I will do the same if Neil McDonough doesn’t get recognized for his fine work. And you know what? My actions would be totally…

Justified
YEEEEEEEEEEEAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
While I agree that last year’s nominees were ridiculous and Ron Swanson is better than everyone, I do think that Ty Burrell is great.
Community will totally get ignored, but maybe there’s hope for Ron F’ing Swanson and Schmidt. I’d actually take Max over Schmidt, but I doubt that the Emmy voters appreciate him like we do.
Wait, that’s confusing. I mean Max/Adam Pally over Schmidt/Max Greenfield.
I look forward to Gillian Jacobs getting screwed out of the Best Supporting Actress nomination while Kat Dennings gets nominated for best Actress. Never change Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, never change.
I can’t NOT think of this when I hear “2 Broke Girls”
This would definitely constitute “pulling a Jay & Silent Bob.”

“Are you Chest Rockwell, Emmy voter?”
“Yeah?”
“Did submit nominations for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy to…(looks Mr. Rockwell’s Emmy nominations)… four “Modern Family” cast members, Kurt from “Glee,” and Ducky?”
“Yeah, a while ago…so?!?”
*commence the ass-kicking*
On a semi-related note, more deserving of Emmy Nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama: Walton Goggins or his hair?
Conspicuously absent from all of this: Danny Pudi.
My ballot: Offerman, Greenfield, Steve Little, Damon Wayans Jr., Ty Burrell, Glenn Howerton. I can’t believe I couldn’t find room for any Community guys, but there you have it.
I think Louis CK deserves writing or producing way before acting.
